Yes, one has to avoid the "cookbook" application of information to individuals of ethnic groups, but first one needs a starting point, and this book provides a great starting point covering many aspects of cultural variation

This is the 2nd edition and should be required for all nursing students and on every nursing unit. I still have the 1st editionvand call both my culture bible

If you work or volunteer in a medical environment involving clients/patients from a variety of cultures then this book is a must have.

I bought this as a reference book for my Transcultural Nursing course. The information was good but the copyright date is 2005 so not recent enough to use as a reference fo my papers. It does have good information however.
