works fine able to use optical feed from tv to an old stereo amp.
To improve sound quality of wall fixed TV, as usual TVs have small speakers and amps.I wanted a better, clearer, sound, perhaps I'm going deaf but don't want to admit it.Anyway old 15 yr old tv sounds much better now.

I'd buy another
I had no problem installing this to a very complicated hifi set-up a customer had. Connection was straightforward, perfect functionality, great build quality and value for money. I'd definitely buy again.

Works well
I now get great quality audio through my stereo. Just a couple of things to be aware of, in case you don't already know how this works:It does require a power supply from a USB port (I've used one in the TV) but the power cable is supplied. You may need to configure your TV audio output format, but instructions are easily available for most TVs

OK but a bit of a whine when input is off
I use this to take the digital optical out from my TV and convert it into analogue into my amp. When the TV is on it works fine, but when the input is off it does have a fairly quiet whine / static hiss, this is enough that it means my amp things it's still getting a signal and doesn't turn off automatically.

broke inside 24 hours
looked to be exactly what i wanted when it arrived. connected it up and yea! sounded fine. wanted it to play my sky q box through my stereo system (i'm blind and don't use the tv as i can't see the thing, and proper speakers sound better anyhow). 24 hours later, sound was badly distorted. tried different cables i had, even different speakers, but no joy. so back it went for a refund. and bought an alternative device that is going strong still 2 weeks later. guess any device can go wrong, but inside 24 hours is a bit extreme.
