I wanted something that was simple but robust enough to take a few knocks when I’m working in the garage and this came out top in my research. It’s fair to say that I’m not disappointed. The speaker is waterproof, dustproof, and rustproof with an IP67 rating, which is ideal for the garage environment. It can be used vertically or horizontally, so it has a small footprint, and doesn’t take up much room in the workspace, but I can also hang it by the carrying handle. It paired with my phone, my partner’s phone, and a tablet with no issues at all.To me, the sound is brilliant. I was warned that the bass might not be great, but it has handled all of my special ‘test the speaker out’ tunes and although there could be more bass, what’s is there is more than adequate for the average person, especially if you use the ULT button. I do have the option to add an additional linked speaker in the future if I want to. The battery life is good, too, and I can get at least 2 or 3 evenings out of it before it needs to be charged. All-in-all, a great bit of kit that’s worth the money. Recommended.

I watched a lot of YouTube videos on various bluetooth speakers around this size range. Most agreed that while the sound quality is good, the bass is not as powerful as some of its competitors. That suited me as although I like bass, I don't like it overpowering. You can give the bass a boost with the ULT button if you desire and it certainly is noticeable. I'm certainly not an audiophile, but I do appreciate good sound quality and in my opinion, these speakers deliver.I decided to buy 2 of them as I read they can be linked using the Sony Music Centre app for stereo sound. It was easy to set this up with the app and the results are great. I connected them to my TV and it sounds so much better than just coming through the TV. Being portable you can space them far apart for a better experience. They also link to my turntable, phone, and iPad with no problem.They feel quality, look quality, and sound quality. Can't go wrong with Sony.

The bluetooth connectivity is easy, great quality, rich in sound and works perfectly and ease to setup

Hard not to give it five stars but only because it does what you'd think it should do and it's priced about right. Let's be clear though, It doesn't sound great - it sounds sort of ok. It sounds very similarly 'sort of ok' to the JBL Flip 6. If you are struggling to chose between these two - by whichever is on offer - they are both 'meh'.You can watch as many YouTube videos as you want spouting audiophile nonsense phrases about the subtle nuances that separate this class of speaker. They sound just ok. Perfect for the beach or the pool (why I own mine) but a single HomePod mini at £89 leaves it for dust - but obviously isn't portable. 4 stars - it does what its supposed to - just don't expect it be very good.

The media could not be loaded. Absolutely Amazing for the price point. This speaker definitely is just as good or better than the bose or JBL equivalents. Sony really hit the ball on this one with it being shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof at IP67. Also a really good battery life on this, use it a couple times a week for about an hour or more and only charge it every other couple of weeks! And tbe ULT button really is something. The bass really does kick in and let me tell you those passive radiators work overtime! 🤣 Can't wait to upgrade to the ult field 3 or 5!

So much sound.. A1 plus speaker.. very loud, even at maximum volume it's still crystal clear.. battery lasts around 6 to 7 hours or continuous play back.. but I just use a power bank and it's brilliant.. even a button on the back to press and it speaks your battery percentage..

Excellent Bluetooth speaker with a custom EQ option, that allows it to be a very good low volume audio book or podcast speaker for going to sleep listening to either. The music sound quality is also great and works well with my phone, tablet and Laptop bluetooth connections.Bought a second one and have used them connected together which is simple and quick to setup and is maintained when the units are switched off and then back on.The EQ settings are set via the Sony connect app and then remembered by the speakers even when switching to a different source.Very impressed oveall

Great Sony sound. You would think it was coming from a midi system. Bluetooth lag is minimal, so I use mine as a sound bar too. Top quality and surprisingly for Sony, value for money!
