Great saw at reasonable price! Accurate cuts.
This is my first power miter saw and I had researched the purchase pretty thoroughly at various review websites. I’m a weekend woodworker and was looking for a reasonably-priced, laser-equipped, high-quality miter saw for 45 degree cuts of 1 x 6 for a garage cabinet I was making. This 10” saw makes highly accurate cuts. The laser guide can be adjusted so that the saw blade will cut to the right, left or center of your cut line. I’m very pleased with that. The set up and installation instructions are of very low quality, with poor illustrations and hard-to-follow narrative. But thankfully you can do better by searching for and watching YouTube set up and operation videos from others who have tested or purchased the saw. In retrospect, I wish I had bought the sliding version of this saw since I needed to flip my 1 x 6 work piece over to complete a 45-degree cut. The saw will only cut the full 6-inch width at 90 degrees in one pass. Overall, this is an excellent saw for the price and a 5-year warranty. Mounting the unit to a frame that's square is not possible since one of the four holes of the metal base is out of square alignment. Odd. So I affixed the unit to a piece of plywood then to a couple of clip-on fasteners that come with the Tomax Mitre Saw Stand. Clipping the saw, with the platform to the saw stand is quick and easy. Take a look at the photos for the workaround.

dang good tool. Laser worth the money.
for the money its hard to go wrong with this saw. it is accurate and dialed in right out of the gates. perfiectly square presets. Laset is adjusted as well. People may be asking if it is worth the extra 20+ dollars for the laser... I would pay twice that. at a quick glance I can see EXACTLY where my cut is going to be. Some folks have said the dust bag is just eye candy and does not really work. Well after a day of cutting trim, I would say it collected at least 50 -60 percent with 60T finishing blade. I have not used the one it came with however.Only a few minor complaints.1. Miter angle plate for the horizontal rotation looks\feels a tad flimsy. Like it is really thin material. However it does not take away from the accuracty. It is dead on.2. Laser angle is a bit odd. I thinik if the laser was mounted higher it would work better for showing cut on trim that is 4" or higher with less squint. For example if I cut a 4" piece of trim flat the laser is clearly visable even in bright light, but if I cut the same piece tall against the fence the display alont the top is not a clearly visable... I found myself using my hand to shade and make more visable.Other than those two things... Saw is light, accurate like a freaking scapel. Highly reccomend this tool.

Great Quality!
My wife and I recently bought a new home, and I needed a compound miter saw for several miscellaneous jobs around the house. I really didn't need anything fancy, just something to make miter cuts, but I wanted something that would last. Consumer reports rated the Hitachi C10FCH2 really well, so I checked it out at our local Lowes. I found it on Amazon cheaper so that is ultimately where I bought it from.I have had other Hitachi power tools and they have always served me well, so I felt confident this saw would to. I have had the miter saw for a few months now, and I was right. This saw is a work horse. It cuts precise, clean cuts. The knob to adjust the cutting angle "clicks" in at certain angles to you can feel confident that your cut will be dead on.The blade it comes with works fine for ruff cuts, but you will definitely want to purchase a better blade if you plan to use the saw a lot or need cleaner cuts. When I was looking for a miter saw I didn't think I cared too much about the laser. Now that I have it, I never want to go back! It makes cutting jobs so much quicker and more precise. The only downfall to this saw (and it is true of all laser tools) the laser is useless outdoors in the sun. You don't have to use the laser if you don't want to, as there is an on/off switch for it.The saw is not super light at almost 40lbs, so don't expect to use this as a portable saw to carry around a lot. All-in-all this saw has been fantastic. It is built extremely well, is simple to use, and makes great compound miter cuts. Would definitely buy it again, and recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a saw.
