Absolutely Great Qualty
UPDATE There is definitely a learning curve to be able to slice evenly. The instructions to angle the tip of the knife down are spot on. A 45° angle finally worked for me.I got this slicing guide today and wow is it nice! The first thing I noticed, before I even opened the package is how very heavy it is. I just assumed that the wooden part would be lightweight and the stainless steel part would be flimsy. I was wrong. The guide tines are really heavy gauge stainless steel. I thought thet might be flimsy, but I don't think you could even bend them with pliers! There's a nice, thick stainless steel (I think) plate that fits betwwen the 2 guides, so your knife is never going to touch or scratch the wood. The guides fit so tightly into the grooves I couldn't get them seated-my husband had to do it. Then I put the them in and out a few times and wiggled them a bit and now they come in and out easily for disassembling and storing. The guides are identical, rather than a right and left, so one fits with the reinforcing bar on the outside and the other has to go the opposite way to line up the tines. The cutting technique is different because of the wider spaces between the tines. On the other hand, my electric knife should fit-it doesn't on my other slicer. This is from the instruction sheet:"This product, functions similarly to other wooden slicers. However, due to its wider slit, it requires more skill and proficiency to use effectively. It may take some time to become accustomed to it.To become familiar with the grip, it is recommended to place the bread knife against the wire and practice cutting.Use a moderate amount of force to press the side of the knife against the wire to the left or right. Move the bread knife downwards with a steady speed and strength, while pulling it back and forth to make the cut. Ensure that the angle of the knife tip is downward."Definitely would highly recommend this bread slicer. This product functions similarly to other wooden slicers. This seems to work well for my bread maker bread. The metal plate prevents any wood splinter issues. Only issue I had that prevents 5 stars is the metal grates where not lining up i took one of the metal grates and switched it around so the bar at the bottom faces out instead of in and now the cuts aline. I would recommend this. Folds easily.

Thoughtfully designed
This bread slicing guide Is thoughtfully designed and seems ideal for *evenly* slicing homemade bread. I make 13” long loaves of square sandwich bread in a lidded “pullman” pan and the adjustable widths of this slicer work perfectly. There are several potential widths available depending on how the metal guides are inserted, and the metal uprights offer several slice thicknesses depending on which side of the uprights you hold the bread knife while slicing. There are silicone feet on the bottom of the wood base that grip the counter while you slice, and the metal plate that fits into the top of the wood base ensures there will be no wood bits in your cut bread. It’s important to use the clear plastic “backstop” to steady the loaf as you cut.

Appreciate it's wood and can fit into my bread box with ease!
With everything leeching micro plastics now a days it's nice to have something that's wooden to cut on! It makes uniform slices of bread and is easy to brush the crumbs off. The size fits conveniently into my bread box, which is perfect storage for me, so I find this highly functional for my needs! Definitely recommend giving this a go if you making or buying homemade breads!!A+++

Perfect for Sourdough Bread
I am impressed with the quality of this Bread Slicer. The wood it's made of is extremely durable. It looks extra nice, with the metal plate that's in the center of this cutting board adding to the aesthetic. I am reminded of another cutting board I have that is made for meats. It has the same kind of design in a way and looks very classy. I love that you can cut thick or thin slices depending on your preference or whether it's for a specific thing like a sandwich or thick sliced for French toast.I am really happy with how well it works for me. If you make sourdough or any kind of homemade bread you want to cut it into neat slices, then I absolutely would get this to help keep it looking neat and professionally done. It's sturdy and won't let you slip around while using it. I highly recommend this!
