Hat Wind Strap, Chin strap for Tarp Hat,Adjustable chin cord for hat

This is a leather strap for a Tarphat, or any similar hat that needs a strap. Perfect for the intended use and looks good on the hat. Had to give one star for “warmth” but not sure how you’re supposed to keep warm with what is effectively a small leather string...?!

Being a bit hard of thinking, I couldn't see how to attach the cord to the hat. The Tarp Hat company responded very quickly to my email:1 put the hat upside down and the front of the hat nearest to you.2 thread the leather cord from the outside in through the BACK eyelet first, then through the loop sewn in the crown then out through the other back eyelet leaving an equal length of the cord either side.3 thread the two ends back into the hat in both front eyelets and even the cord up once more.4 now attached the spring toggle and you are all done..5 Hurrah go out and enjoy your day

I bought the hat from this company, I feel the chin strap should have been included in the price. When I asked I was told they had run out... Do they ususally include one? There was no instructions of how to attach it. It is not straightforward as I thought it would be. When you invest in a quality bush hat, my husband doesn't want to lose it on a windy day.

I bought this chin strap as i had bought a new Australian leather hat that did not have one. The chin strap arrived fairly quick and after fitting a couple of eylets to my hat i attached the chin strap. I had read that a chap while fishing on a river a gust of wind came and blew his hat off and all he could do was watch it float away down the river. Thats the reason i bought this chin strap i tuck it up inside the hat when its not required. Great quality with a very good toggle and works a treat.

Good fit for my Drizabone wax hat too although quite expensive. Looks like it will wear well though so no worries and much better than the temp shoelace I was using!

Honestly I am not very good in apreciating this kind of product because is the first one I brought, but comparing with the Hat I payed 120 pounds does not seem to fit. And that plastic things are to big and cheep.

Had it for a few weeks now and the hats only blown off once and the strap saved the day. Its lighter than i thought so go for black or very dark brown leather so it matches your swade or leather hat.

I'd been looking for a strap for my outdoor leather hat for a while and not been able to find one that I liked.This was just the job and fitted my bush hat without a problem, the cord is strong enough to keep the hat on when its windy which is the only time I would use a strap anyway. The adjustable toggle allows you to get a nice fit under your chin too.
