Nihongo Challenge N4 Grammar Reading JLPT Tankobon Softcover – November 10, 2010

Just started prepping for the JLPT N4 from a foundation of WaniKani level 22 and some decent leveled reading and listening practice, but no explicit grammar instruction. Found the Genki series too slow and not motivating as a solo study tool, so I was glad to find this book. It's challenging but not impossible, and it moves a lot faster than Genki. I'd recommend this book not only for JLPT study, but also for leveling up your grammar usage quickly. Wish me luck on the test! :)

Absolutely awesome practice book. That said, do not buy this expecting in-depth explanations of grammar concepts. The book is primarily practice sections which are identical to how you will see them on the test (at least as of writing). There are other book which complement this one well (i.e. they are mostly explanatory, but don't have as much practice).This definitely helped me do well on my reading and grammar sections of the JLPT.

I studied Japanese with this book for JLPT N4, and guess what, I passed the exam! This book was a great help for me to pass the exam. I strongly recommend this book.

Good enough

Very comprehensive book, not only for self study but also to understand the grammar required for N4. The readings are also good, enjoyable and the tests are good preparation for the exam as the question structure is similar to that of the actual exam.

Very useful grammar presentations. Comes with a booklet of translations, so that saves me a lot of time when studying. Loved the reading section.

prompt, accurate, happy with order

It’s well written. It’s an older version but I really like it for working on my japanese grammar studies.
