Great chainsaw for the price
I wanted a chainsaw mainly for cutting firewood and to cut down some leylandi conifers that had gotten out of control. The chainsaw arrived and I have had no problem assembling it. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I did not use the tools provided as they don't look great but that's no issue as I've yet to see high quality tools provided with any item. The chainsaw seems to be of good quality and although I don't find it heavy it feels a reassuringly robust weight in the hands. It started first time just follow the guide. In use it cut easily through the conifers and offered no kick back or issues. My only negative so far is that the rubber seal washer for the fuel tank was no good and caused a minor leak until replaced. I will contact the manufacturer regarding this. To follow up from my earlier review I had an immediate response from the manufacturer regards the fuel leak and a replacement cap has been sent within days. Great after service to add to my positive feelings towards this product!

GREAT MACHINE
Firstly I had concerns having read about communications issues with the sellers not responding to complaints etc. This was enhanced when the machine arrived missing the bumper spike. I contacted them and was given an immediate apology with the part sent out right away. Anyway the machine is very powerful and with a 20" bar it means I can cut thicker trees and the chain lasts longer. The fuel consumption is a little high as you would expect with a 62cc engine and the chain oil use is also a little on the heavy side but I know this will do the job. Starts first time and is quite noisy and heavy. Easy to put together though and the carry bag is handy. I am delighted with the performance although it tends to cut out when held side on. Obviously a fuel flow angle issue but not really a concern. I would highly recommend. It comes with two chains and I have cut for several hours so far with no apparent chain failure. I did invest in an electric chain sharpener for my workshop but haven't used it for this machine yet.

This chainsaw is boss and easy to use
Wow bought yesterday, used today and well impressed. Great price for a decent bit of kit. Followed a YouTube video to add the chain and bar and was so easy to fit. Except for having to re-tighten the chain a few times which is normal for a brand new chain, there was zero issues with this chainsaw and it was so easy to use. Zero kickback, felt safe and enjoyable to use. Cuts really well and definitely seemed like it should have cost more. Very happy customer, well done Hyundai 👏 👍

Review coloured by having to get replacement (in positive and negative way)
Okay get the first one out of the way. Chainsaw arrived, put together, fuelled and started. Ran okay on tickover from cold or warm but once warmed up would not work when any throttle applied. Would choke and stop within a few seconds. Tried to check the plug and when I pulled the plug cover off the coil spring part of HT lead which fits over top of spark plug separated from lead and stayed coiled around plug. It’s possible that this was the running problem and gives me some concern over future performance. On the positive side the supplier was very prompt in communications, arranged to pick up faulty item and sent out a replacement (which came before the first chainsaw was uplifted). Which to me was great service. Second chainsaw here’s the general review. At c£90, considering you get an extra chain, it’s a bargain (there are similar others at same price range – a friend has a different one and they both look of similar build and quality). It was delivered well packed with all the items promised; it’s fairly easy to put together but the pictures in the manual are too small and of poor definition to be a lot of help. Included is a volume marked mixer bottle for making up the 25:1 mix but it is not very robust so I would not recommend carrying a full bottle in a bag for risk of leaking / splitting and I think you’d be better with a decent fuel container of thicker plastic (plus it only holds enough for about two fuel tank fillings). I’ve had a Stihl chainsaw for about 4 years and bought this as a back up with a slightly longer bar (unluckily the day before it arrived I had a tree blown down blocking the access to my house but this dealt adequately with the thicker trunk that my Stihl couldn’t cope with). In comparing this to the Stihl it’s a bit like comparing two cars from a top manufacturer or one of the more “basic” makers. Both will get you from A to B but one has better quality switchgear, plastic, components and comfort. One noted feature is the Stihl chains come pre stretched and I did notice this items chain did stretch significantly more on first use than I expected. I also find fitting the drive cover to the Stihl a better design. Another good design point on the Stihl is that the oil and fuel reservoirs are clear so you can see when you’re getting low unlike this saw but so long as you check it after about twenty minutes or so you should be fine (I was always told not to let two strokes run dry as it can cause excessive wear when fuel lubrication stops and engine is still trying to run). Overall would I recommend this for purchase. It is built down to a price but that price is great value for money. I’ve only used it for about five hours work so can’t comment on longevity and the work was on fairly thick / solid trees (and I still worry about the plug cap failure and haven’t tried to remove plug yet). But if you’re looking for something for domestic use and not expecting overmuch then I’d say go for it. I'd also particularly commend the seller for communications and help with the problem I had. p.s. I expect the similar chainsaws at this price would not be much different.

Really impressed with this machine!
I switched to a battery Stihl saw after 15 years of small and medium sized petrol machines I use for easy domestic work, mainly cutting up rings and thicker logs I get off tree surgeons ready for winter. A couple of weeks ago a friend dropped off some logs that had been loaded with a skidder. 4-5 foot long 2 1/2 feet in diameter. My little battery Stihl would have no chance. This got good reviews and for £100...why not. I'm impressed. Despite the Korean name, I think its a Chinese copy of a McCulloch. The chain adjustment isn't as slick as a Stihl, but it does the job. I had to attach the machine spike guard at the front, add in the blade and thats it. Started up on the 3-4th go. Its heavier than my old MS220 (?) but that means it is smooth through wood and pretty powerful. Nice long 20ich blade throwing a chunky thick chain. Has just gone through some knarly chesnut with no problems. Seems to drink petrol but that could be because its right out of the box. Also the chains for this are super cheap, you can get 4 for £20 which is a lot better than the £15 each for my Stihl blades for the battery machine. I'm impressed!

Good machine when it works; but poor reliability and after-sales service
I bought a Hyundai P1PE P6220C mid-August 2020. It was delivered promptly and, although a few ancillary small items were missing from the advertised package, the machine was intact. It was easy to assemble and started on first attempt, as it has every time since. In use it is an excellent, powerful machine that saws well; and it’s reasonably easy and simple to maintain. However, the bad news is reliability and after-sales service. After less than 4 months and no more than 6 uses, I used the machine for some routine log sawing. A few minutes after starting, the machine began to produce white, acrid and, literally, eye-watering fumes. I shut the machine down to discover that it was too hot to handle around the chain cover. When it cooled down, I removed the cover to discover that the plastic inside had melted severely, and the metal moving parts were still extremely hot with molten plastic on them. I informed Genpower Ltd (the UK Hyundai supplier) who required the machine to be returned for analysis and assessment. Well over a week later the machine was returned to me, having been repaired. I asked repeatedly what had caused the melt-down; no answer was provided by Genpower. After a month of frequent prompts, I was informed of what had been replaced on the machine (oil pump, oil pump cover, and clutch), but not why it had failed. Three days ago, I attempted to use the machine (third use since first repair); on the first pull of the starter chord, the recoil starting mechanism failed. The chord stayed fully extended and would not retract. I informed Genpower and was advised to replace the recoil starter unit. As I write, I await its arrival from Genpower. During my conversation with Genpower to report the second failure, it was suggested that the reason for the first ‘meltdown’ failure was because of a known defect with the composition of the plastic used in the chain cover; apparently, it overheats due to ‘reflected exhaust gases'! I was informed that the plastic’s chemistry has now been modified to prevent the condition. I asked if the replacement cover on my machine was of the modified design; I was told that it’s impossible to tell! So, worryingly, the problem could occur again! In 5 months of ownership, I have had 2 major failures of the machine and it has been unusable for over 2 weeks. Not good reliability. Based upon my experience, I am also less than impressed by Genpower‘s after-sales service. Despite my allowing for current national circumstances, there seems to be little sense of urgency or apparent concern about the inconvenience caused to the customer, to say nothing of poor communications. In summary, a great machine when it works; let down by poor, even worrying, reliability and rather indifferent after-sales service.

Punches well above its weight
I needed a chainsaw to get rid of a number of trees in my garden and thereafter cut the resulting trunks/branches for future firewood. I had initially borrowed a friends chainsaw which was a reputable brand however this struggled with the job at hand due to the thickness of branches. I set out looking for my own chainsaw and came across the P1PE. I don’t expect to have much use for a chainsaw once the garden is finished so the price was perfect. The reviews convinced me to take a chance on a brand I’d never heard of over the entry level chainsaws of the big brands. Now my knowledge of chainsaws is non existent but if you handed me this and told me it was worth a lot more I’d believe you. Assembly was quick and easy (I used the YouTube video rather than manual) and it was good to go. It starts first time with easy (even when cold if you follow the instructions) and off you go. It goes through logs effortlessly and made cutting up the thickest of branches a walk in the park. It even went horizontally through the trunk, which is about 1ft in diameter, without issue.

As good as any high end saw I’ve ever used and 1/4 the price
Great saw easy to put together with tools provided Feels very solid good quality material used in construction of saw feels like a £300 saw. Good light saw nice long cutting bar started first pull of the cord Not to noisy doesn’t give of a lot of vibration. Auto chain lube works well only thing I would say is adjust the lube rate down as my saw was turned up full and did pump out a lot of oil witch ended up dripping out of the saw But once adjusted a few clicks problem solved. Would highly recommend this saw Don’t know how it would perform under heavy daily use but for someone who needs it for a few jobs and bit of regular log cutting job for the fire 100% the saw for the job at the price 👌🏻
