As an adult crafter who likes simple projects to relieve stress, I enjoyed this product very much, even though there are a few minor flaws. I'll list some pros, cons, and suggestions below. Pros: The book provides detailed directions for seven different dog breeds in addition to abbreviated suggestions for how to create an unlimited number of breeds on your own. Book directions are clear and detailed with large, accurate pictures. The pompom maker is sturdy and easy to use. I had no problem creating pompoms easily my first try. The kit comes with enough basic supplies to make four adorable puppies, provided you take yarn measurements into account I was very satisfied with how cute my puppies turned out! Cons: The basic school glue provided was not strong enough to hold the heads to the bodies or the felt ears to the heads. The punch-out dog carriers were too small for all of my pups. The kit is probably a bit too challenging for most eight-year-olds. I'd recommend it for ages ten and up. While there is enough yarn provided to make four dogs, there is not enough to make any four you want. Some dogs require too much yarn if you want to create four dogs total. The measuring tape on the back of the book measures in inches and centimeters, while the book directions are in yards. Suggestions: Use a hot glue gun to hold the dog together. I used superglue, but my puppies are a little fragile. Take yarn measurements into account when choosing pups or just buy more yarn at a craft store. If you wrap the yarn around the height of the book, you'll have half a yard of yarn. Use this cheat mentioned in the book instead of the confusing ruler. When the book says to cut the yarn short, be sure to cut it quite short or your pup might look a little messy and shaggy. Overall I really liked this kit and would definitely recommend it.

Perfect gift for a child who loves craft. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The kit has threads in different colors and decorations like ears, eyes and bows. My daughter is 10 years old and has no problem finishing some models. The puffy animals are cute.

Yes, these are ridiculously cute. Yes, they are fun for kids and adults. Yes, it requires the help of adults. So here's my review on the logistics: It was quite time consuming for the grooming, styling and getting the shaping right. Trimming the pom poms can get messy. Expect a pile of yarn fur everywhere. Make sure you have comfortable scissors - cutting the yarn down the middle when making the pom pom definitely required some elbow grease. Tuck the eyes as deep as possible into the fur, or else the puppy will look bugged eye. Also, I scanned the paper punch-outs of accessories to print for future use so I won't "run out." There's not enough yarn to make all the pups, the white yarn included in the kit was exactly enough to make one pomeranian. The pups didn't fit into the paper dog carrier - I think you have to trim it down a lot more.

This is exactly as shown online. The comments and reviews were spot on and this looks like it will be fun to make with my neighbor's daughter! This company writes extremely followable directions and included all supplies needed to make the craft. This would be a great project for a kid with a day off from school or even one sick at home with a cold. I'm really impressed with the company that makes these kits. My one grumble..i chose to buy a"damaged" package for several dollars less--everything was intact but the whole pkg smells like a cross between moth balls and a moldy room of books. Yuck. I am airing the yarn for a day before I use it and spraying with Lysol. If you can afford a new undamaged pkg. Get it!

"It was super fun and easy to make once we figured it out! If you do it the right way it turns out super fluffy and cute." - my 7 year old Parents, don't do what I did and skim through the directions. The first 2 puppies we made were not very good because I was measuring the yarn completely wrong! However, even with the disastrous first two attempts, my daughter was in heaven. She loves this set! It did require quite a bit of adult interaction/supervision, but there were plenty of parts she could do independently. We just ordered our second set (which we will do correctly this time) because it was such a cute and enjoyable craft.

I gave this 5 stars because my grandaughters really had fun making these and they were very cute, but there was not enough white yarn. It was disappointing but improvised. I can understand this to be a little confusing if you have never made pom-poms before but doable if you read and follow the instructions. I'll be buying more yarn so we can make more cute little puppies. We all enjoyed making them.

My 13- year old's review: "I first got this when I was 11, and made one puppy, and another one now. I know that is a long time to wait⏰ and I didn't use it much, but that is because I also like to make other pom-pom things, and this set started me off! It doesn't come with much materials, but that's fine, I think it supposed to be like that, just to supply you with a little bit off stuff so you can begin your journey! Since I got this set my brother got pom pom kittens, which he loves, and my sister got pom pom pets. This would make a great gift, because Klutz sets always do great with instructions! Plus, the puppies look so cute and fun, how could you possibly resist this cute set!🐶"

Reviewed by a 9-year old First, I’d love to tell you that the puppies are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E! And personally, my 3 favorite breeds are the Chihuahua, the Pomeranian, and the Yorkie. Secondly, the instructions are very clear, whether it’s how to make a Pom Pom with the Pom Pom maker (Included) , or how to make a Pom Pom puppy. Also,I love that it shows you how to make various types of dogs. And I like that it comes with punch-out accessories, like collars and tiaras. They even have punch-out carriers you can make! But, my Pom Pom puppy wouldn’t fit in it. And I love this product, but I have to say I wish there would be more materials. You can only make 4 puppies, and if you wanted to make more, you would have to buy another set, or have to buy materials from an art store, which in my opinion is a little tricky, because that art store would probably not have everything. But overall, this is a great product, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
