Fabulous colour and results, my #1 fave hair colour!
My favourite hair dye for about the last 7-8 years! Excellent coverage and this shade (5.036) is really gorgeous - a deep, rich dark brown with a very subtle auburn / red tone glowing through in certain lights. I love Knight & Wilson products, and you can usually get them on Amazon for a good price (- on a par or even cheaper than Superdrug, which is the only other place I’ve found selling them!) If you’re not sure, take the plunge! This is a gorgeous shade and the bond restoring treatment really does work wonders to give you silky salon-fresh-feeling locks! Just allow a couple of hours to do the whole process, and don’t try and rush it before a night out (like I’ve done before 😂). This dye should be taken care and time over, and used as a self-care pampering opportunity!

Growing out bleached hair? Use this shade
This exceeded my expectations- my hair looks and feels fabulous - if you are looking for the right hair product to sort your roots and bleached hair out look no further. It looks natural and it’s a good warm colour - if you felt washed out and ugly just get this. I had about at least an inch of my roots (dark brown)and then really pale bleached hair - it has blended all of it to a gorgeous natural looking shade - 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Minimal Lift, Excellent Ashy Deposit - Perfect For Toning Natural & Pre-Lightened Hair
I’ve used the Knight & Wilson PurePlex bond treatments for use so thought it was time I gave the colours a go. I bought the 10.21 lightest ash blonde which is suitable for use on levels 8-10, with varying tonal depth and gentle lift. I’m currently a level 8 as I’m gently lifting my hair after a pigment deposit. Much of the hair underneath is processed to a level 10, with level 8 at the roots. This gives a really nice natural, ashy pay off on darker blonde levels. It’s very similar to my natural highlight colour. It is genuinely one of the most natural ash shades I’ve achieved using a box dye and works well on golden pigment. I was disappointed to find there was no bonding additive in the dye itself. The box includes a bonding a treatment used after the colour, and then a conditioner. Something to be aware of when buying this colour! I found it to be non damaging and closer to a salon quality toner than a permanent colour, which is perfect if you’re naturally blonde or pre lightened and wanting to colour correct. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone wanting to lift and colour, you’ll be disappointed by the result. But it’s ideal for adding colour into pre lightened hair and colour correction for gold and yellow tones. Avoid if you’re more orange leaning, it won’t give the results you’re hoping for.

Fabulous stuff
Wow!... as an old ish grey goose, this stuff is amazing! Due to a bleaching after box dye incident, I was stuck with reddish darkish blonde damaged hair, I was terrified if I added another chemical to the equation all my hair would be sitting on the plug hole...not on my head. I applied this to my curly hair, in what I would describe as daily conditioning method, head upside down, colourant on fingertips and applied just to the ends... a bit randomly! Five minutes later I applied more going up the hair shaft, after 15 more minutes I applied to the rest of my hair.... the total time I let it sit was 40 minutes, I was a little frightened and lost my nerve! I applied the repair mask, then the conditioner and my hair felt great, I couldnt wait to see the colour result, I let it air dry to give my hair a chance.... red gone.... dry crinkly hairs smooth... curls soft and pattern intact. Fabulous stuff! First time I've ever coloured my hair, where its turned out less damaged than before!!!! It's dark and the few attempts to take a photo make it look ginger (again!!!!) Which it definitely isnt, so will add a photo at a later date.

Never use lightest golden blonde on previously highlighted hair as turned darkest brown in 8 mins
I bought this in light golden blonde. I have used Knight and Wilson PurePlex conditioners before and found them excellent so wanted to try this hair dye for less damage to hair during bleaching. I had long hair that is blonde already and 3 weeks prior I had used highlights extensively through my hair to lift and wanted this dye for a pale golden blonde over my whole hair for warmth. I made up the dye to do and watched in the mirror as it developed due to my previous highlights (and made sure I applied it as the instructions for previously coloured hair advise). The dye said to leave it 45 mins. By 8 minutes I thought the dye was looking far too dark, it began to turn dark brown in colour on the lengths of my hair so I quickly rinsed it all off. My hair was rough and matted and with a horrible shock I realised the dark colour was not washing out with shampoo. The bleached parts of my hair were now darkest brown with a greenish hue to the colour. I was very fortunate that an old hair dye of my daughters had a developing lotion and I applied this in a panic to my hair which after 10 minutes had lifted the darkest brown to a dark blonde/ ashy blonde still with a slightly greenish hue. I applied the K&W in box conditioner and left it 15 minutes which helped the terrible roughness of my hair somewhat and then applied a blonde toner that made the end colour bearable. My hair is very long and I was sure when the dark brown had taken and the condition was awful that I was going to have to cut it off as it looked like another colour may not have been an option and I couldn't get a brush through it. I went to knight and Wilson's website and ordered PurePlex conditions as they were the best way forward. I sent a long and detailed email to Knight and Wilson explaining what had happened. That the dye had developed way past light golden blonde all the way to darkest brown in 8 minutes ruining my hair and explained that I would like them to send out the conditioners that I ordered by way of making things right with me (refunding me the cost of them please due to what had happened). I was not answered within 3 days so I emailed a polite second time and was not answered at all again. My conditioners arrived with one extra sachet less than £3.00 for free (and may actually be something free they give to all orders over a certain amount, no way of knowing as they hadn't got back to me). No-one acknowledged my polite emails or offered any advice for my experience. No-one said the dye would be reviewed for future buyers to check colour compatibility etc. There is no telephone number only emails which if like me, someone has a bad experience to report. Before I wrote this review I waited 3 weeks for a response and never got one. Please only buy this hair dye if you are aware there will most likely be no support for a bad result or experience. The worst that nearly happened to me was losing many inches of hair. I didn't have a rash or other horrible reaction to the dye and it appears there will be no support to a person if this happened to them using their hair dyes either based on my attempts without response. I continue to use their hair conditioners as Pureplex is a great product for damaged hair but I wanted to warn someone about the hair dye I used. Light Golden Blonde develops into darkest brown (almost black) with a greenish hue on previously highlighted hair even though the instructions say you can use it on prelightened hair. The colour is all wrong but the in box conditioner is very good. I never got photo's in my scramble to wash it out, develop it out etc, I was just trying my best to rescue it back and save my hair's length, not stop to take pictures but if I had stopped to take pictures they would make everyone seeing them choose a different dye than this. All the best.

YESSSSS
Absolutely love this dye! I bought the blackest shade and i love how its come out, its super shiny and the extra bond serum/ conditioner smells great and left my hair feeling like I hadnt dyed it at all with how smooth and soft my hair was, the colour came out exactly like on box and seems to last well, Anyone complaining about colour not coming out well has most likely not done enough research into how to dye hair for certain colours, cant fault this dye and it will be my new go to!
