Perfect for Mazda 3 2014 Hatchback
Brilliant stuff!! Perfectly working for CarPlay. Haven’t tested android yet. Quick plug and play and fits right in. A bit of a work in taking out the dash but some video in youtube has excellent instructions how to fit it in with care. Bought the wired one but got myself a car play dongle instead of cord making it wireless! Seller also was very responsive with providing me details of the firmware I need to update my old Mazda with.

Perfecr For Mazda3 2017
I bought this because my SD for maps packed up. I was about to buy a new SD, but looked to see there was a Android Auto / CarPlay option for a bit more cash. I got this one as it has a newer USB to suit modern day cables (USB-C). Anyways... the installation is so simple and works a treat. It took me about 40mins in total ro fit it all in my Mazda3 2017 (with electric handbrake). Its smooth and easy to use. The only thing is when on Android Auto menu, the screen is no longer touch screen. Touch only work on standard Mazda menu, but that aint a issue as you can use it a via the controller knob. All In all well worth the money.

Working fine, good value for Mazda 3
Went with the wired option and working fine. I looked at this as a two stage project. I initially updated the software about a week before so that I knew this was done and working, then bought the kit and installed. No real instructions but videos on YouTube. Bought a set of fascia removal tools for about £7 off Amazon though only used a couple. Mazda 3 fascia is pretty robust and comes off and clicks back in fine. Box is in the storage space between the seats on mine which makes access a easier. I took my time and probably a 90 min job for me. Big thing having google maps and well worth the money. Integrates really well the existing buttons for the info systems and touch screen still works. Amazing upgrade for the cost.

Does everything it says, bar...
Does everything it says here but it doesn't actually fast charge your phone and the installation diagram is flipped so it's quite confusing trying to work out which wire goes where. Better off finding a video on youtube. Other than those 2 points it's a pretty good purchase and I'm happy with it. Good value for money considering Mazda charges £300+ for it Edit - on occasion, the screen won't display anything. The music will play and if you have navigation on it'll still do the audio but it won't appear on screen. I've messaged the seller but other than them suggesting I "unplug and replug" the back cable, which would obviously involve taking apart the dash again, they were not all that helpful.

It Worked!
So far so good. I now have Apple CarPlay in my 2016 Mazda 6 SkyActiv Sport Nav. There are good videos on YouTube to help with installation which I used as well as ChatGPT to double check I didn’t miss any steps. Was quite simple and very happy with the end result!

It didn't work
Everything connected properly. Installing it was easy in a mazda 3 2014. Worked well for the first trip to london. Coming back it didn't recognize the phone. Changed usb cables(tried official samsung, pixel and new iphone cables). Changed the phone and tried 2 pixels and 1 samsung(latest models). Sometimes it will recognize the device for few min and disconnect it again. It happened mid drive sometimes. Turning off and on the car won't make it work. Same issue, retrofit kit not recognizing the phones. Check the pic attached. It stays grey like that when the phone is connected.

Android Auto installation som fungerar
Det fungerar jättebra. Smidig och snabb gränssnitt. Omständig installation som krävde ca 45 minuter men till slut blev det bra.

Works great, with a little trick.
Fast delivery, works perfect. Has been using on my Mazda 2017 for a couple of months, and it works like a genuine part from Mazda. The installation was quite time costing (taking out the old part then installing this) due to the car's assembling of that area. I had to look for multiple guide videos to get it done (this is not the product's fault). The one real issue is: you have to disable the Auto Android's location access to make the navigation on car's screen work, other wise, it would jump back and forth between your home and current location.

Great product
delivered on time. It's easy to cent the iPhone and the CarPlay runs very well. Since now never loose connection. It worth the price.

YouTube University Helped Me Bring My Mazda Into the Future
This HMYC Mazda CarPlay and Android Auto Retrofit Kit worked great and was a nice upgrade for the car. Once installed, it really makes the Mazda feel much more modern. Having CarPlay and Android Auto available is a huge improvement over pretending the old setup was “good enough.” Installation was pretty manageable with the help of a few YouTube videos. I would not say I magically became a Mazda technician overnight, but after watching enough clips and pausing at the right moments, everything came together nicely. The kit fit well, the Type-C fast charging interface is a great bonus, and everything has been working like it should. Overall, this is a solid upgrade if you want to add modern connectivity without replacing the whole car. Just bring some patience, a few tools, and maybe a healthy respect for plastic trim pieces.
