The Yamato Full Face Golf Wedge Set or Individual Golf Wedges are high spin wedges. These wedges will have your friends on the internet searching to see if they are legal, as soon as they see a wedge shot hit the green. Everything that I have seen on the internet ,say they are illegal wedges and cannot be used in USGA events. Since I do not play in any of those events, I believe I will keep taking advantage of their great spin ability and stopping action. The wedges are a flat black color and fades very quickly where you strike the ball on the face of the club. (Not a big deal to me) I did put new grips on them as soon as I received them. That was a personal preference not a defect of the original grip. The original grip is rubber and just didn’t feel right in my hand. I would recommend these wedges to anyone who just wants to hit sweet wedge shots and see the ball either stick on the green and back up to the hole!!!

Excellent value with a consistent distance, sharp grooves give great backspin.

The iron produces a lot of spin on the ball, but it cuts and damages the surface of the ball. I ordered the 50, 54 and 58 degree wedges and the distance on these wedge were less than my Kirkland V2 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges. I was hoping to gain 5-8 extra yards with the more aggressive loft, but it did not work out. I am still going to keep the wedges as I don't feel right returning used clubs. Overall, I like the quality of the wedges, but I am disappointed by the distance they produce.

I bought these as my first wedge set and chose 50,54,58 lofts. I wanted them quickly for an upcoming golf trip to Spain. I had been looking at the Lazrus set for £189 but they were out of stock. I saw the Yamato full face wedges which looked very similar on offer at £112 (also free delivery from the USA). I took a punt with the view it’s not a massive financial risk and how bad could they be compared to my current set. They actually arrived 90mins before I had to head to the airport so quickly in the bag and away. I have to say they felt great from the 1st shot. They have nice midsize grips and are heavier than my old wedges which gave me the confidence to swing easy and let the club do the work. I don’t normally see any check on my pitch/chip shots but all of a sudden there it was. Yes they are black and will mark but for the price I don’t mind. They seem to be very good quality. I’m not sure if they are forged like the Lazrus set but as the grooves and milling look identical they may be. As an 18hcp player I’m not yet good enough to notice any forged benefits. I’m very impressed so you may be too.

I have been using these wedges for 3 months now and find them great to use. I like the CNC milled finish, grips and the full face grooves which give better contact to strikes. Like other purchasers, I enjoy seeing the ball spin back as much as 8 feet from past the pin positions or alternatively stop on a sixpence when required. The black face covering and sole colour does fade away but that is little to complain about given the value of the set ( I purchased the 50, 54 and 58 degree wedges). These clubs will grip and rip your golf balls so be prepared and enjoy.
