IMPORX 5MP PTZ PoE Camera, 3X Optical Zoom, IR Night Vision, IP66 Waterproof Outdoor Security Dome Camera (5MP)

Saw there were no reviews but decided to take a risk and I am glad I did. This camera is great!High quality images and smooth video images even when something is moving. I used IE to connect to the camera, don't even bother using Chrome because it won't install the plugin. A lot more options in the interface then I've seen with other cameras (Amcrest and LAview).Night vision lights up my entire yard and everything in the field of view. However, there is a bit of lens reflection from the dome because the IR is so bright. There is a setting Exposure Target in the Exposure Settings section that allows you to change the brightness but there is still a bit of lens reflection.I used Blue Iris with this camera and it was able to detect it perfectly. There are still some settings you have to control through the camera UI, like the PTZ preset locations, but the motion detection and PTZ controls work flawlessly. There are some native alert settings in the camera but I didn't try them because I use Blue Iris which is capable of sending text messages with snapshots.I can't speak for the mobile app because I use remote connection through Blue Iris instead.If you are looking for a POE switch to work with the camera then check out the BV-Tech 9 Port PoE Switch.

the camera software has quite some doors open to acces it from outside.There is no firmware upgrade available to secure the camera.The manufacturer denies the safety issues.You can check for yourself when you have a camera. You can download a free onvif control software on the internet.With this software you can add or delete users !!!!!You can change the password for all users and the admin.All this without admin access, just like his.Everyone with access to your ip can see the picture without logging in!!!All this is very well documented and known for a long time but yet the manufacturer denies to get the flaws corrected.That’s for the software.Here comes the hardware review.Keeps loosing focus.The 3MB camera of the same style are more reliable.Zoomed in the picture doesn’t look different as the one from the cheaper camera? Perhaps it is just upsampled from the same camera.The print that seals the camera body has cracks and lets moisture in.Month ago the manufacturer promised to send new o-rings but failed to do so.I have multiple cameras and pretty much half of them have the issue.If you get the camera make sure it is on it own network without internet access. If you don’t know how to do this then this camera is not for you.Go with a manufacturer that fixes safety flaws as they get discovered.

I ordered this camera because it seemed like a great bargain. 5MP, PTZ, and PoE all for less than $100; how could you go wrong? Well, you get what you pay for.I connected with Blue Iris and the setup was very easy, no issues. The resolution from these cameras Does report as 5MP but the video quality is absolutely horrible. I wound up returning these since there’s no point having a camera if you can’t make out what it’s showing.

I tried 3 of these cameras and returned all 3. On initial startup ptz functions all worked. After changing the HTTP port I no longer had any of the ptz functions. I had video but that was it. Resetting the port did not get them back. I was also unable to reset to factory settings. I tried 3 different browsers and a second computer all with no ptz or options to reset. I then ordered a similar camera with a different name. I am now waiting for the company to send a replacement for that one because I experienced the same problems with it. If I can't get that one to work I will be looking for a completely different type of camera. I am disappointed because I really like the size and features of the Imporx as it would work very well where I was installing it.

This camera does not work at night and was the whole reason we bought this. This statement " 3pcs Infrared LEDs, effective exposure distance up to 20m." is completely false. I found one LED inside and the distance was no better than a few feet.
