Great price point for granulation
This review is for the 5 color Granulating Colors I palette. These are some of my new favorite granulating colors and I have quite a collection of Daniel Smith Primatek and Schmincke super granulated. These are extremely bold separators with a somewhat unpredictable final result depending on water saturation and paper. The photo here of swatch tests is on a cheap Mixed media journal from Walmart and they performed very well. The Aurora Violet behaves like an extreme imperial or ultramarine violet. And the Aurora Orange is somewhere between Daniel Smith Serpentine and Schmincke Desert Green, but these Kuretake are less predictable— it is truly fun and surprising to work with these. They are the epitome of what makes watercolor special! I always love Kuretake palettes but I hope they make a third set of granulators and keep the new granulating colors coming!

Magic watercolor
Absolutely beautiful. It is incredible to watch the colors develop. No two strokes of the brush is the same. The effects using different brushes with this paint is amazing. Rich colors and a creamy texture that you can control with the amount of water you use.

A hidden color surprise in each
Great quality transparent watercolor paint with a hidden second color surprise in each pan. Creates a need to plan your painting well, but worth it in final results.

Very strong granulating and great color combos
I am so in love with these water colors. I wish they had some bigger range in terms of the specific colors but the granulation is so cool and interesting and really changes once it is fully dry. I love Kuretake Gansai Tambi so am happy to add them to my collection, I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful paints but learn how to use them
Truly gorgeous paints-- but you must know how to use them (watch some videos first). I really love using these in florals. You can get some stunning effects and complexity with these.

Granulated, Pearl & Gem review
Took me a minute to figure these out. I purchased both of their granulating paints along with the PEARL, and GEM colors. I have ALL pictured. I would recommend you messing around and having fun with mixing and layering each one before starting a project. I painted wet on wet in these pictures with one layer. These are on Canson XL mixed media rough.

Fabulous Alchemy in Granulating Water Colors!!!!!!!!
I still have four more colors to experiment with but I'm loving these colors so much! I tried some roses with the Aurora Violet color and got spectacular results! I also have examples of arora red and aurora orange shared here! These are alchemical magic!!!!!!!!!!! Can hardly wait to try the other colors!!!! What I'm finding in the youtube videos that are being shared is that often the demonstration is being done without much water and without letting the paints rest in water for a little bit first. Also these are most vibrant if you paint a nice wet layer and then leave it alone. Going back over these tends to muddy them because the colors separate out again in another layer of chaos that does not match the first layer.

Not great
I don’t know if I got a bad box or if the colors really are as muddy and uninteresting on purpose. The only color that is good is the aurora violet. The aurora orange is green, a sickly green and the red and pink are muddy and indistinguishable. Very disappointing.

Very nice
The colors are not as bright as in the picture but they are absolutely amazing, they are more desaturated and earthy which I prefer

Ottimo prodotto
Acquerelli con una bellissima granulazione, li ho usati anche in sfumatura con altri colori. Sono molto piacevoli da usare. Ottimo rapporto qualità/quantità/prezzo. Li uso tantissimo.
