Fabulous Shredder!
It’s just arrived this evening and already filled almost 3 black bin liners full of compressed small pieces. This is: so fast; security conscious cross-cut pieces; doesn’t overheat like previous shredders nor jam like they did. I used this for 90 mins only switching it off whilst I emptied the bin several times. The unit didn’t feel hot and did not switch off automatically or signal overheating as it seemed fine and just kept shredding. I only fed about 6 sheets of decent thickness paper max through each pass but it encountered a credit card and a few staples along the way with no problems at all. I did allow the bin once to get too full and the machine stopped before taking in the whole sheet and I then noticed the blue power light flashing to inform me of this. The machine appeared to be jammed so I pushed slider to ‘fwd’ then ‘Rev’ a couple of times then switched it off, replaced the bin after emptying and hey presto! it cleared and started shredding again. It was getting late to continue shortly after that so hoovered out bin and turned it upside down after unplugging it to see how much paper was left in the blades and to my delight there were about 3 single strands and not full like my other cheaper shredders used to be. I intend to run oiled paper through tomorrow after today’s heavy use so that hopefully it stays as efficient. This machine has dissolved my stress of years of paperwork that previously took far too long to shred so had given up and was frustrated at the ever-increasing collection of documents and receipts but not any more! 👍🏻🤗🙂

Worth having it
Good item, not so loud. Easy to use, compact size. Perfect for home use.

Excellent shredder
Very happy with this shredder. The paper waste tray is nice and large - saves emptying it every few minutes. It happily takes 6-7 sheets at a time. Paper shredded into tiny pieces which is great, which I then put into our composter.

So far, so good - much better than others I have had.
I don’t have a good track record with shredders. I prefer micro cutters to ensure documents cannot be read but some just don’t always do what is described. This on the other hand takes several pages (says 12 and I don’t doubt it!) and works for ages before stopping for a rest. It micro cuts really well and it is surprisingly quiet. It is quite small but totally adequate as the waste takes ages to fill the bin. It’s on castors which are easy to fix and it isn’t too heavy and the bin slides out easily so no lifting a heavy working unit to access the bin which you find in other brands. I also got it for a great price. Just would have liked it in a selection of colours to coordinate with my decor, but that’s just me!

Solid machine which saves lots of time
I have had this product a few months. I don't write reviews until an item has had reasonable use. I have been using the Bonsaii to dispose of old business records accumulated over many years. Previously I had used a strip shredder for occasional use but it was laborious for anything in quantity plus strip waste takes up much space no matter how you try to compress it. The Bonsaii is several times the price of a strip shredder but it has paid me back in spades. Is a sturdy well-designed machine of far better build quality than the average cheap strip shredders; and the little casters make it easy to move around. Claiming twelve sheet capacity, I find it gobbles up handfuls of 80gsm paper with ease and ignores staples - though I try to remove any first. I mainly shred paper, though I have shredded the occasional credit card. It claims to shred CD/DVDs but I have not tried. I have suffered very few jams, these being due to my error in loading. The reverse function usually takes care of the problem - unlike my previous shredder that I sometimes had to take apart. The window is a great aid to show when it is full and the small cross-cut waste, taking up far less space, means I can keep feeding for quite a while before stopping to empty; and ultimately, I am able to put far more waste in my refuse bin. Whilst a cheaper shredder will soon overheat, meaning constant breaks to allow it to cool down, this one just keeps going. I think it claims 40 minutes continuous run, but I haven't made it halt yet. Inevitably, it does make a noise but is not overly noisy. Ultimately, a robust machine up to heavy-duty work, and good value for money.

Buy this!
This is a fantastic shredder. It micro cuts which is great. You certainly can’t read what’s been put through. I’m searching the house for things to shred. It’s the best I’ve ever used. It’s not too bulky and very handy having wheels. I’ve only had it 3 days but wish I had ordered it previously.

Game-changer
This Bonsaii shredder, with its 12-sheet, micro-cut, 60-minutes run time, is a game-changer for me, after struggling for years with a 3-sheet, 5-minutes run-time, 40-minutes cool-down, cross-cut shredder. Another positive is that it is Climate Pledge Friendly. Speed: I find the Bonsaii Incredibly fast and efficient. In 2 hours, I was able to shred (roughly) a 33cm x 42cm box full of A4 paper. I used to spread my shredding out over days as it was so tedious using my old 5-minute run-time, 40-minute cool-off shredder. Mobility: The addition of castors makes the Bonsaii easy to move. A great improvement on my last 'lift and carry' shredder. Bin emptying: The Bonsaii’s pull-out bin is a great idea. The shredding ‘teeth’ mechanism stays behind, in the ‘housing’, unlike my last machine which had to have the (heavy) ‘top’ (containing the motor and shredding teeth), lifted off the bin and put down somewhere, leaving paper shreds and dust everywhere. No such concerns with the Bonsaii. Paper jams: Early days but, so far, using the Bonsaii, I haven’t experienced a paper jam. Noise level: A shredder is bound to be noisy. Even so, I find the noise level of the Bonsaii perfectly acceptable. It hums as the paper goes through which is an improvement on my old machine with its loud ‘crunching’ ‘paper chewing’ noises. Paper feed: The Bonsaii doesn’t ‘struggle’ or ‘snatch’ as it feeds, so the paper stays upright; unlike my previous shredder which grabbed unevenly at the paper, causing it to fall sideways and clog up the feed. Over-heating/cooling: When the Bonsaii overheats, it stops and the fan kicks in until the shredder is cool. Yes, the fan is a little noisy but, to be honest, I find it re-assuring to know it’s doing its job! My old machine would overheat, stop; a red light would flash and an eerie silence would follow. I was never quite sure whether the thing was cooling down- or dead. Last but not least- my previous shredder was a cross-cut and this one is a micro cut. So much better. My only disappointment is the price variation. I purchased at £89.99, discounted from £112.99 and days later, noticed the same product selling on Amazon for £76.49.

A resilient little battler.
Bought this to get through about 4 big bin bags of paper I'd accumulated for shredding. It was a real mixed bag of stuff, including several credit cards, some card, some sticky labels on plastic, some laminated stuff, and some sticky stuff(albeit stuck onto some other paper first so it didn't jam up the machine). As I was sat feeding this stuff in pretty much non-stop for hours at a time over 2-3 days, I assumed it would overheat and stop, needing a rest in between - especially given the warm weather. But to my amazement, it never overheated. The worst that happened was some of the sticky stuff got stuck on the feeders lot. but that was easily remedied and more to to with how I fed it in. I tried not to be too cavalier with putting loads of sheets at a time. But sometimes, I ended up feeding some right old monstrosities into it, like a load of weird sticky labels etc stuck in between 2 sheets of paper, or cardboard which I kind of had to force through the feeder slot cos it was so thick. I just assumed some of them would jam it up (maybe the devil in me was secretly *trying* to jam it up!?!?), but nope, it just kept on slogging through. Didn't oil it or anything. OK, one nano-criticism... sometimes when I fed stuff in, it failed to automatically start pulling it through. But just kept retrying till it did. Not even sure how it senses something is in the feed, but maybe all the paper dust can obfuscate that. But I never bothered trying to clean it out. Just kept retrying and it always just worked again soon enough. Other stuff worth mentioning maybe: - It's not the quietest. But then again, how quiet can a machine that chews through non-stop without breaking be. So I wouldn't be put off by that. - It's got 4 wheels you insert into the base which mean you can move it around - I found this handy when I needed to empty it. - Like I said, it never locked up due to overheating, but if you've been using it for a little while, you will hear a whirring noise after you've stopped shredding. This is just a fan cooling the mechanism down(this is a good thing and means the chances of it overheating are reduced) - I only used it on the "automatic" setting so can't comment too much on the "forward"/"reverse" settings. I'll be dead honest, I didn't even read the instructions, so maybe they'll shed more light on those settings! - After shredding a lot of credit cards, I realised you're supposed to feed credit cards only through the middle section. Nonetheless, it shredded them all fine and continued working fine so not sure if I got lucky or if that middle section advice is OTT. - When shredding such a huge amount of stuff, it's hard to pay all your attention to what you're doing. As such, sometimes, I fed stuff in askew, so it wasn't flush with the feed/mechanism. I was always afraid it would cause a jam or worse, but nope, it just somehow bent the stuff around and continued to feed it through regardless, to my astonishment. Probably best avoided if possible though! I think it's fair to say it surpassed my expectations and I would recommend it. How the hell it's still going after what I did to it, I'll never know! Poor little sod.
