I got this for grandson to restore an old gun we found while cleaning. He said it worked very well.

i did entire frame of handgun, must prep 100%,, rinse extremely well and dry completely between all steps and different applications, water mixture degrees are in Celsius, instructions are vague, do research on your own, do a dry run/walk-through before attempting as process happens quickly, I have all materials and tools ready to go, you will need to be confident and prepared to do this, Do Not get sidetracked or distracted ,small amount of liquids are provided. You may want to purchase at least two kits depending on the size of the peace you are blurring I pre-stripped frame with CRC evapo rust remover, rinsed, thoroughly dried, completely, test all your chemicals on small piece before doing entire process Bottle 1 stripper mix 1:1 @ 59°F must remove factory, blurring, and olive oils/rust, rinse extremely well dry 100%, I had to submerge in Ziploc bag placed in plastic container, the solution blood through Ziploc Bottle 2 blur mic 1:5 @ 59° F, I submerged for 3 minutes, only maybe could’ve gone longer, but didn’t want to overdo it, ran extremely well dry 100%, after drying the piece did have a white hue Bottle 3 dehydrating oil Do Nit Mix w/H20, completely coat or submerge leave for at least one hour, soaked in, looked very black , wipe clean reapply heavy code leave soaking 10 to 12 hours overnight, I then wiped clean reapplied heavy coat for another 10 to 12 hours propping it up with plastic chopsticks. This oil needs to soak into the blur. This oil is the protective layer. Not sure how long it will last, as of now I am satisfied Good luck and be careful fellow DIY’rs

I bought this 'cause I screwed up my daughter's Sig 230. I accidently used the wrong cleaner in my ultrasound cleaner and ate the bluing! I polished, cleaned, and refinished the piece with this material and the result was beautiful! It looked like a show-case pistol in a gun shop!

Its ok wish it was permanent.

I was skeptical when I ordered this because I've never had good results with other cold bluing products. This is the best bluing product I've ever used and if the finish holds up I will definitely use it again. I like how this can be diluted, I used distilled water and diluted it 5 parts water to 1 part bluing and was able to soak parts to achieve a deep rich gloss black.

Does a good job removing, but did not work on my knife screws. Don’t waste your money like me. Buy the big name brand everyone knows in cold blueing. Included picture of what the cleaner/ rust removal does. Left is the new black screw hardware and after 5 minutes in the cleaner it turns them a satin. But the blueing did not work on multiple applications.

Decent product for what you pay. The bluing liquid isn't a consistent chemical reaction. Every project I used this on, was very splotchy and inconsistent. However, for the price, it did the job. I would not recommend using this product on a high end project or any firearm, you will be very disappointed! Overall though, I wasn't completely disappointed, I would purchase it again.
