nice finder for the money
wish I would've gotten the 9'' for my hobie pa12 but will upgrade and install the 7 inch that I purchased and install on my bonafide rs117. after hours of research and once set up to your preferred settings works amazingly. usually run Garmin striker series for my kayaks so this is an upgrade. would even recommend for an entry level boat.

Great for kayaks
I’m using this on a kayak powering it from a small‘ish battery. Very clear image, the gps works well and has info on more small lakes than I expected. The menus aren’t the most intuitive, but I’ve caught fish where it showed them so I’m happy.

Big Quality Issues - Buy Something Else
I really wanted to like this fish finder. It's competitively priced and appeared to have more features than other fish finders at this price point. So I bought it and was dismayed to find out a piece needed to attach the transducer to it's bracket was missing. I returned it and ordered another. This one had all the pieces but had the major annoyance of arriving dead. I tested the power cable to battery connection and it was fine but the unit would not turn on at all. Sorry to say, pieces missing and a unit arriving DOA is not a good sign of product quality. I'll look elsewhere.

Setting up the fish finder
Setting up the Eagle 9 was pretty easy. Love how you can customize your pages. Really like the side view.

Sonar not functional
I bought the Eagle 5 brand new as a starter GPS/fish finder. GPS works wonderfully but I can’t get the sonar and fish finder to work, even though I’m getting water temp and have all the settings turned on and have reset it several times. Very disappointed that I may have to get another transducer
