This is an excellent reel for the price. It has a nice balance for the size and conditions of fishing I plan on having. It matches nicely with my Ugly Stik. I hope to enjoy the quality and performance of the 8000 for many years to come.

I must have ordered this by mistake but I’m not unhappy with it. I have not used it yet but my first impression is that it seems well made. Very smooth operation. This is a big ass reel that I will put on one of my surf fishing rods. It holds a lot of line so it’s going to get pricey filling it up. I’ll follow up after I’ve had time with it in use.

For the price it is good, this thing can pull in big red snapper. I got the 7000 and it felt like it could even pull in even bigger fish. The downfall is the drag, causes the reel to get stuck sometimes and the reel handle is too small and cause fingers to hurt. This is a good reel to keep on the side for extra use or for a quick deep sea fishing trip.

Reel is nice I ordered the 8000 and it works great caught lots of fish no problem out in the ocean on my 10ft surf rod.

I purchased this reel for a upcoming salt water fishing trip for Wahoo, Tuna and Mahi Mahi, what a disappointment ! The drag system is terrible locking up at times, there is nothing smooth about the drag binding up and sticking, the line would not stay in the line roller on the bail arm which caused me to loose a couple of fish, needless to say I had to quit using it. The reel seemed to have good power but with the drag and bail roller failures it's junk !

I got the BG1200 and it's a nice reel for surf fishing. I'm a casual surf fisherman and this is a really nice reel for very little money. The fit and finish is super nice and id recommend it to anyone who likes surf fishing and doesn't wanna spend hundreds of dollars in a reel. This is the 2nd one I bought and the 2st one is still working perfectly.

Just purchased, reel states it holds 700 yards of 50lb braid. Spooled all the way up on 300 yards of 50lb braid. So far already kinda irritated. Now we test it in the ocean tomorrow… stay tuned.
