NICE KIT WITH GOOD INSTRUCTIONS!
This is a great kit for even a beginner because it comes with an illustrated stich guide for crochet. It also has bright clear pictures. The extra yarns for some of the other critters are easy to find at any good craft store. The only thing is that the tiny safety eyes for the little critters are hard to find. I agree with another reviewer that I saw , who said a buyers guide to find them would have been a welcome addition to the manual.

Cute, but confusing for beginners
I saw this kit at a local bookstore and I loved how adorable the little animals were. My boyfriend and I both purchased a kit with the idea to learn to crochet together. Neither of us knew a thing about what we were doing, and the instructions in the book were quite confusing for the both of us. The pictures are nice, but are not that helpful either. We both ended up looking for YouTube videos to try and figure out what we were supposed to be doing to get started, and I eventually bought another kit, that was much cheaper with a lot more tools, that helped out a lot more than anything from the book in this kit. Also, the orange yarn (I haven't tried anything with the brown) that came in the kit seems to fall apart very easily when I was trying to figure out the stitches. I picked up some different yarn from Wal-Mart to learn with and have a much easier time with it instead.I'd imagine that the patterns from this book are much easier to assemble if you already know how to crochet, but for beginners I suggest looking elsewhere to learn.

My husband bought this a year ago for our granddaughter an me-:/. I can basic crochet but not this it is way too hard! Very disappointed.. We will both have to go to classes together to get through this.

Really cute stuff.
My ten year old daughter loves these patterns. She has not had any trouble making the critters, however she is experienced beyond her years in needlework. These books may not be for beginners but if you already crochet you will love them!

arggggg sooo frustrating
Found this kit with the cute pictures of the animals. Packaging looks like it is an activity for kids. Definitely not for kids or beginners. LMAO Introduction says " uou can whip up a new toy in a couple of hours." Lol NOT with this book. Bah so disappointed booooo
