Hieronymus Bosch: Coloring Book (Coloring Books)

Not your traditional coloring book
I wouldn't call this a coloring book at all, it's definitely more of an activity book. It has blank pages with some outlines of parts from The Garden of Earthly Delights. It gives lots of open space to allow for you to take liberties and make your own creations in part with the art included. I knew from the description that it wouldn't be exactly a coloring book but I was hoping for more actual images to color and less blank space that depended on my input, so that's disappointing. There were no images or reviews and the price was low enough so I went with it.

Should have read the fine print
Not exactly a coloring..mire like a kud`s activity book. I will probably never use but too much of a hassle to return

Beautifully made book
Awesome coloring book. It actually hasn't got very many pictures to color but rather a lot of space to draw in your own ideas to color.

Incredibly Disappointing "Colouring Book"
I bought this as a gift for someone who is a huge fan of Hieronymus Bosch's work. I was almost too embarrassed to give it to them. I offered to return it but they said they'd hang on to it simply because they love this artist so much.I understand that this is a book geared towards children. Still, I anticipated so much more. Hieronymus Bosch's work is full of rich scenery and vibrant characters. I figured a colouring book featuring these would offer hours of enjoyment and entertainment to children and adults alike.First of all, this is not a colouring book, not by any stretch. This is entirely misleading. As it says in the description, this book is 32 pages long. Of these, a few of the pages feature beautiful colour sections of Bosch's actual work without any actual colouring to do. A few more feature little individual characters, in colour, lifted out of the painting and placed on blank pages. Roughly 10 pages feature simple outlines of specific figures from The Garden of Earthly Delights to colour in. Simple, sad looking outlines of one or two figures on otherwise blank pages. I anticipated whole scenes with just the colour taken out which would allow the owner to attempt to reproduce the painting or to simply colour in the outlines in whichever way they prefer. That's what one would expect from any colouring book, whether it's for an adult or a child. The book doesn't feature a single page resembling a typical colouring book page. What irks me the most is the fact that about half of the book has nothing to actually colour in. Almost every page offers little more than a simple prompt such as "What would your paradise garden look like?" or "Hieronymus Bosch painted some odd things. Can you think of anything to add?" At least 50% of it is practically blank paper.I'm going to attempt to upload some pictures of select pages of the book. I'm not sure if they'll be accepted by Amazon but if they are, you'll see how pathetic most of this book is.If you're thinking of buying this as a gift, don't.If you want to inspire your child's imagination you'd be better served buying a book about your/their favourite artist(s), or simply googling and printing out some of their work, offering your child some drawing prompts and then handing them some blank printer paper.

pochi disegni e pochi dettagli
pochi disegni, e poco dettagliati, tante pagine vuote, che per carità interessante per l'immaginazione, ma veramente mi aspettavo di più visto l'artista.
