Fair enough sound, for a rather cheap UDU drum
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am giving this 4/5 mainly because the color of the image is not exactly what you get, which is not an issue for me, but might be an issue for some people. The sound is a bit "smothered" in this UDU, which is made out of very thick ceramic, which is another reason why I give this 4/5. Obviously price justifies this, and you cannot expect a very crisp sound coming from an instrument of 25£. If you were to buy a delicate handmade udu, you should be prepared to pay 5 times this amount of money, for instance one of the udus that KleoDrums makes back in Athens. We are of course talking about a completely different instrument then. All in all, talking about England, getting to find an Udu drum, which is a special and ethnic instrument, and at this price is at least impressive. As I said in my video, this has not been glazed on the inside, which would concern me if I were to put water inside. Water has a special sonic effect as you might have guessed.I talk a bit about udu, and try to play a bit with it so that you can hear how it sounds on my video, so watch it.I would recomend this product, and above all I would recomend dealing with DJM music. The Udu came very fast, and it has been sooooo carefully packed, I had trouble trying to get it out of all the layers of carton and paper. They even kept updating me with text messages about what is going on with my order. Highly professional service, to an admirable level.`it comes with a pillow base, which is very useful, as udus have a tendency to roll (its a round pot after all) so this ring pillow keeps it in place. It is a heavy instrument, in an odd shape, so you need to carry it in a back pack. It would be great if Djm was having udu carry bags as well.If you are going for the ethnic sound of the mediterranean, this is for you! Grab one before it goes.Would hate to say this, but I realise it might be a motive for some people, Udu will look great in your space, and it IS a conversation starter. I often see djembes or didges in houses, even pianos, when obviously nobody is playing them. You can go alternative and way more cultural with an Udu. Good feng shui as well :P if you consider it is an instrument that represents all natural elements. Ok enough with the "weird stuff" now.PS I am a musician, and a Greek one, so Udu is part of my culture, so you ll have to trust me on this :PPS to DJM music, you really have to make videos for your instruments. Musicians want to know how things sound before we buy them as you know, the way a thing sounds is the core issue for us. I would love to help you out :)
