Does a decent job... with a caveat or two.
Picked this up to see how much local radio stations and cell towers and power lines were an issue. It's ok, but could use better instructions. It seems a little directional especially at cell frequencies, and it is also slow to respond to small changes. It's also necessary to understand that sometimes things like house wiring can radiate high frequency noise from something you've plugged in, and that transformers have a huge magnetic field and are in many household items. Easy to misjudge what you're looking at, but it's no fault of the meter. It's a basic tool. You need to know that a router sends out short blips on standby, for example - and a microwave's transformer is always live, the ignition coil on the gas stove radiates rf energy, but to see what's really going on measure the microwave while it is heating a cup of water, a router during a heavy download, and the stove while in ignition mode...and so...It would be nice to have a guide to use of this thing in layman's terms.Without that, if you don't understand how it really works, you won't get reliable meaningful results.Still, recommended to get a good basic idea of what's around you.

A Responsive EMF Meter That Works Well So Far!
This MESITOOL EMF Meter was received free of charge for the purposes of a fair and impartial review as part of the Amazon Vine Voice program. Being a hobbyist that does a fair amount of electronics and radio projects, I thought that this device may prove useful. It also looked fun, so I was excited to get my hands on it and try it out for myself. Although I am admittedly no expert on EMF Meters, I do know that certain common items produce different fields that are detected with this device. One example would be how AC electric is detected making the “EF” indicator go off. This is why Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Testers beep when near such fields. Another example would be transmitting on a radio, and when I clicked my Push To Talk (PTT) button to transmit on GMRS frequencies, the “RF” indicator subsequently lit up! So, this product appears to work properly being that it successfully detected the proper fields when it was supposed to do so.I appreciate those features such as having a visual indicator that warns me when field(s) are unsafe as it’s a very nice touch. It’s great being able to look at the EMF Meter and to not only see when field(s) are categorized as “Safe,” “Alert,” or “Avoid,” but to also hear a slow or fast beep as well as see a color coded indicator simply in green, yellow, or red! It feels ergonomic and fits well in my hand. It’s also fairly lightweight. The “Hold” function is good to have as it will let you save the values at the touch of a button, so you could write them down later on. I also liked that the required 9V battery was included.I really didn’t see any obvious downsides with this product. I only wish that I had something to check the values against, but from what I can tell it is in fact measuring the correct fields when it’s supposed to. Varying distances from those fields definitely affect the values appropriately. I will definitely be able to detect unwanted radio frequencies as well as amounts of stray voltages instead of simply whether or not they’re present. I would also think that this device would be useful when looking for hidden cameras or any other unwanted devices that are emitting electromagnetic or RF energy. Of course, let’s not forget about “ghost hunting!” There’s probably many more uses for this EMF Meter and I look forward to learning them!Overall, this EMF Meter seems to be an excellent value when compared to the features and prices of other similar items. Being that I really can’t find any downsides to this product, I could honestly recommend it and give it the five full stars that it seems to deserve!I hope everyone enjoyed this review and found it to be both helpful and insightful. Be well!

Not sure I trust it...
I purchased this to evaluate RF from amateur radio equipment. It appears to do this fairly well. However, I noticed it indicating AVOID levels of magnetic field within 1-2 feet of wireless phone chargers and small home fans. Additionally, it indicated that my cat was producing AVOID levels of electric fields. Only after that, did I see "Ghost Hunting" in the product description. Is my fan haunted? Is my cat a reincarnated entity? Or is the device overly sensitive? I do not know.

Perfect for EMF readings
I live near a cellphone tower and was always curious if I was far enough from the hazardous signals emitted from the tower. One thing I can say about this is that it really does what its intended to do, as soon as I got it I started testing my phone, tv and Wi-Fi router and it did show near accurate numbers i can at least say they were 98% accurate with the user's manual from all of the devices. I did test it out with the cellphone tower good news is I'm withing the non-hazard spectrum. It works easy to carry anywhere and easy to use. Worth it.

Interesting tool for discovery
I picked up the MESITOOL Radio Frequency Detector (EF/MF/RF) to get an idea of how much EMF was being emitted from common household devices (Microwave, WIFI Routers, Electric Meter, cell phone, laptops, etc.) and from the corporate WIFI routers and extenders at my workplace. As an example, I was surprised at how much RF was being emitted outside my Samsung microwave oven, and at what distance the RF was still above safe a range for constant exposure. I expected home & corporate routers to be strong at long ranges, but they were not, by comparison. I don't have secondary tools to measure exposure, so I can only assume that this device is moderately accurate, but even so, I can see where there might be cause for concern from exposure to everyday devices in our environment. It is definitely a cool tool to start conversations with friends and loved ones about what we expose ourselves to, and how we might mitigate potential damage.
