Lucky Reptile HSM-20 Halogen Sun, Mini, 20 Watt, 2 Pieces

We use an adapted low bookshelf as our house tortoise’s open living space. As a result the space to the shelf above above is fairly narrow so a bulb of this size is far more suitable than the standard incandescent spot bulb. Furthermore, the spread of effective heat appears to be better as the tortoise now basks and sleeps in a larger area than with a spot bulb. In terms of longevity were still on halogen #1 but the that’s looking good by comparison too.Update 2/5/21After lasting at least three times longer than the average life of the alternative spotlight bulb our first bulb has now died. Aside from the fact that it is clearly more effective as a heat/light source than any comparable bulb it also wins hands-down in value-for-money stakes.The only odd aspect is that the screw fitting on the dead bulb is black and white heavily carbonised. Has it overheated itself...?

These throw out an amazing amount of localised heat and light for 50 watt bulbs. They are also very small, so don't protrude into a vivarium too far, so harder for lizards to get too near. Great for creating a hot spot, without making the whole vivarium too hot. One of these makes an ideal warming basking spot for a bearded dragon at a height of about 14 inches from the surface it is warming.

Does what it says. Perfect for my baby Hognose snake. Works well in its smaller enclosure and it can be used with a dimming thermostat. She loves to bask under it. Will edit my review if it should blow or break early.

I purchased these lights for my chameleon and they are brilliant. There is fantastic brightness and has a good heat source that’s concentrated on more of a specific location.

Both blown after less than 4 weeks just nudge them and they blow, avoid !! Would have given zero stars.

Good lights but not as warm as I expected, I'll get some higher wattage ones next time

I received the 20 watt halogen sun and I can honestly say that these are perfect. Great quality and great price.

Not happy one has broke already seen as thow I chose then because there supposed to last a lot longer than normal filament bulbs
