Eternal Knowledge
I've started reading & I'm so enthralled by it already. Reading about Ms. McCloud & Mr. Pete. I do hope everyone that gets or receives this book READS it as such, including the remedies and recipes, as it should be read, and not just reference it for social media or when they wanna know how to make a tea or something. This book is valuable in more ways than one. Thanks to Michelle E. Lee for this eternal knowledge!

REQUIRED READING FOR "CRUNCHY" BLACK FOLK
This is a North American Bible as far as I'm concerned. Real people, real experiences and REAL plant medicines. The author did her due diligence and research, and it reads almost like a dissertation it's so thorough (that work cited babyyy)! There aren't many readily available/accessible forms of information regarding rootwork and root doctoring, so if you're interested, this is a great jumpoff.

A wonderful addition to traditional African American healing legacies
Love, love, love this book! Love the inclusion of the Index of Images. Love that in addition to the typical breakdown of herbal constituents and how to address specific conditions, there is the occasional inclusion of prayer, meditation, stillness, inhalation methods, bathing and more. Love the knowledge of traditional African American herbal lore which cannot be valued highly enough. Trust, there's so much more to love in this book. Just get it and see.

Perfect but...
I love this book. It's a moment in history that was captured and Michelle did it at the perfect time. It made me want to talk to my grandmother and ask about her time growing up. This is the perfect book to be apart of your book collection. The only thing I would say isn't great about it, is the pictures being black and white. I believe when dealing with herbal books and learning about plants, the pictures should not be drawn nor in black and white photo. It should be clear colored pictures taken with a camera. So we don't have to guess if the plant we're looking at in real life is the black and white picture or the drawn picture we're looking at in a book.Other than that, it's an amazing book, the stories makes me love it.
