I was actually using this to dig 3 ft deep holes for posts. The huge $500 gas powered auger I rented couldn't cut it, it would hit a rock and bend out of my hands. But this little adapter was able to go around rocks and loosen the soil for removal! Honestly, I cannot believe how good this thing worked! I really went hard in the paint with it too - digging holes in a variety of terrible soils with rocks and roots - you name it! I truly put this auger to the test, and it did not Bend or break. It's also an incredible value for the money. I'll probably be buying another one just for safe keeping! If you're planning on using this just for planting, it will absolutely make planting easier. 12/10 WILL use again!

Had considered buying a gas powered auger but I saw this set of drill augers and it proved to be just what I needed. Used them to drill holes for posts to create an arbor for grapes. I can see it will also be helpful for drilling holes for plants and small trees. I attached it to my electric powered drill and it easily dug through hard packed dirt and some clay which contained small rocks and other minor impediments. Be careful around tree roots though as it can get caught around them and not pull back out easily. I'm 6' + so the extension worked perfectly and helped me avoid bending down too far.

so far, it is very effective. If I were designing a bulb planting auger, though? I would add a stop, or a way to measure depth. My bf was helping, and he kept digging WAY to deep, and since the ground was cold, and I was bare handed filling IN these holes, it became imperative not to drill too deeply! Otherwise, it was a great product!!!

Worked good. Way easier than dinging by hand. The extension piece is a game changer. No more up and down to drill the holes. Planted 100 sapling trees a few weeks ago. Wish I had it before doing that.

At 73 it’s getting a little harder to bend over and dig holes for new plants. This drilled all 20 easily and made the whole chore doable. Glad I got them. Will pass on to my son and friends. Great price for what it does.

I enjoy using this set, although as of late I have a lot of failures with it, the three different sizes have been narrowed to one, as the shafts of the smallest and medium size both snapped where the hole was drilled to allow for securement to the extension/shaft that connects to the drill. Originally I thought I was being to aggressive with the drill/dirt was to hard, etc. However now I believe that the strength of the metal leaves much to be desired. Once in use, the auger works great, I really enjoy the ability to quickly place a hole and then drop a plant in it. But as it is now, I only have one size and that is commonly too big, but I still use it and the other two augers, albeit I have to have the smaller auger pieces so close to the drill, I am literally laying on the ground to use them. Again, when they work, they are a real time saver, when broken, they're a real pain in the rear

Im giving these 5 stars. Depending on your battery, these are hard workers. They've gone through some pretty compacted dirt. They dont seem to mind small stones. And the extender works pretty well, saving my back. Great sizes and for the money you can't go wrong. Im glad I bought them.
