Pro Art Hard Bound Sketch Book 5.5"X8", 110 Sheets

I had given up drawing a long time ago, but I decided to get back into it, so I bought this wonderful sketchbook! Granted, the cover has a texture that does make it appear a bit cheap, but it is very nicely bound and has no issues laying flat, thereby making it far easier to draw and view your work!The paper is of fair thickness, but any inking will show through to the other side, so if you plan on doing anything other than pencil sketches, I would recommend placing a piece of scratch paper underneath the one that you are working on to prevent any potential seepage (although it hasn't happened yet! You would have to try pretty hard).Overall, great product! I'm excited to fill this baby up as time goes on.

These fit perfectly in the leather journal cover that I purchased at our local Renaissance Festival.

This is literally only journal I'll use. I have been purchasing these year-round for about 8 years now. I've bought multiple different sizes (the 4"x6", 8.5"x11", & 5.5"x8") and the quality has all been excellent. My preferred size is the 5.5"x8" because it has adequate space and is also still compact enough to keep in my purse. Even with carrying them in my purse every single day I've only had two over the years that I needed to reinforce with some duct tape. I have tried other sketchbook/journals that appear identical, but they definitely are not. This Pro Art brand's is much more sturdy and better quality, including heavier weight paper. The pages are sturdy enough to handle glue & light, as well as having ni coasting.

I love this sketch book. I used to get it from a small art store in my town but they closed down and I couldn't find them anywhere. So happy that I was able to find them online.The book is made very well and is small enough that I can put it into my purse easily and pull it out whenever inspiration strikes. The pages are thick and and paper is great quality. Perfect for spur of the moment doodles.I will definitely be repurchasing when I fill this one up, as I tend to do quite often!

This blank sketchbook was perfect for a little art project I did. It's sturdy through its binding and paper. The paper is stark white and smooth, but thickness may not be quite enough to withstand permanent marker bleed through. The hardcover took acrylic paints well, although there was some chipping on the glossy surface until I built up a few coats. There was no warping from moisture. It's great for what it is, and a good price. Any minor flaws in the outcome of my project was down to paint quality and technique.

The notebook came in a paper package, although it had bubble wrap protection, the humidity and the rain made the amazon receipt release some white pieces that got kind of glued to the covers of the notebook. I was able to get rid of that with some windex, but what I didn't like at all, is that the same humidity made some of the first and last pages to get stained, like when you drop water on something. Only on the inner corners, it's not such big deal because it might be only 10 pages or so, but I would appreciate a better packaging next time.That's the only reason why it has one star less, overall it's a really nice sketch book, hard cover is really nice and the pages are of a really nice white tone. Would definitely buy again when this I finish this one.

I've tested this sketch book with pretty much everything I have and while markers do bleed through it, it can hold really light watercolors/gouache decently as long as you don't soak the page and let it dry in between layers. Don't expect wonderful results though.Micron pens, colored pencils, and graphite pencils are good with this sketch book. It can take light markers (crayola brands), but not copic or prismacolor markers. I tried charcoal and pastel for kicks and found that the trouble of keeping it neat is not worth it on this sketch book unless you put clear duct tape over the page when the picture is finished to keep it from smudging. Still a very good sketch book. Lots of pages and very easy to carry around.

I was very disappointed with this item, the paper is like printer paper and it bleeds with most art supplies. I wanted to do some copic marker artwork and it totally bled and ruined the page behind it. This would be a good book for journaling or anything like that. The only think I like about this sketchbook is that the hardcover is really great and sturdy.
