It's okay
It's fine, it didn't blow my mind or anything. I wouldn't buy these to consume regularly at home, for me they're more of an after-thought... like I have them around to grab on my way out if needed, or going snowshoeing, just an easy thing to grab on my way out of the door or pack in a bag. I appreciate that this product is supposed to have health benefits, I can't speak too much on that after only having had a couple, but it seems like a good feature. There is no noticable difference on my overall energy/wellbeing after consuming these, but that doesn't upset me, I rarely if ever find that to be the case.Nothing is wrong with this product, and I appreciate the added health benefits. Giving 3 stars just because I also do not find it to be exceptional in any way.... I guess I'll make it 4, I don't have anything bad to say. Convenient, tastes alright. Would I repurchase? Maybe, depends on the price. For $5 ($1/each) yeah, I probably would. Anything more no, I would not.

Vitamin Packed, Taste Not the Most Palatable
Expectations really need to be set with this one as it's a healthier drink with NO added sugar, not even alternative so taste is not the most pleasant. However definitely appreciate the nutrients and for those not used to drinking a very plant based drink, it is a nice starting point. You can control the sugar you add, for example adding some brown sugar syrup or milk tones down some of the overly grassy notes. It is exceedingly easy to make, just add hot water. I prefer my drinks cold, but I think for this drink hot is better. Overall not the most palatable, but you have the option to sweeten to your taste.

Bland And Unusual
This is my second experience with Alpine Start, and overall, I’ve found them to be a decent company with a respectable mission. However, the taste isn’t for everyone. I found this to be the case with their coffee and now with their matcha latte. Like the coffee, this latte has a very strong and unusual smell, especially for a morning drink. It’s kinda like paprika mixed with pepper and a dash of umami. It’s definitely not as bitter as the coffee, but it’s by no means as smooth as a real matcha latte. I taste no hint of the coconut creamer nor do I find the consistency to be very creamy at all. I’d say it’s more like a strong cup of matcha powder with some umami flavoring. Not my favorite taste, but definitely preferable to their coffee.

Not my cup of tea...
I tried their latte as well and what is stroking about both is they have a peppery smell upon opening. That aroma dissipates when mixed in water, however, a peppery taste still remains albeit ever so slight. After trying several mushroom drinks I am sadly realizing they are not for me. I really wanted to like these drinks. I didn't find this tasted nearly enough like the matcha I am accustomed to. That said, if you don't mind a little bitter and earthy taste, this may work for you. There are a number of health promoting ingredients.

STRONG mushroom flavor.
All you taste from this matcha powder is MUSHROOM.Imagine you ground dried mushroom into fine powder and mixed it into your drink. This is exactly what that would taste like. You do taste a little bit of matcha in there but the flavor of matcha and this super strong taste of mushroom do NOT go well together AT ALL.I tried one packet and threw out the rest. Sorry but this is just not a drink I enjoy drinking.

Strangely tasty!
Matcha is meant to be served without sugar, and I was happy to find a matcha drink that doesn't have either a ton of sugar or some kind of weird sweetner in it. The trade off is the rather earthy flavor that I think comes from the mushrooms. It's a little strange and you have to get used to it, but honestly it's rather nice. It's rare that I've found a matcha drink that's not syrupy sweet or more milk than matcha! If you're a fan of actual matcha that's sharp and a little bitter, then you'll probably really like this as a curious but still tasty twist on it. If you're looking for the typical sweet matcha latte experience, then you'll have to sweeten this one up yourself.
