The media could not be loaded.  I LOVE how soft and light this rug is. It fits our space perfectly, too! It's machine washable as well. Even though, it has slip grips on the bottom, I'd still recommend getting a non slip pad to go underneath it. Overall, great quality and appearance.

This is a beautiful rug in person. I was hesitant to get it, because I generally prefer darker or brighter colors. But my living room is all wood—floor, ceiling, and walls (it’s a log cabin)—and there’s only one window. Well, technically two, but the second one is so high up in the cathedral ceiling, I tend to forget about it. Regardless, the room is fairly dark even during the day. I need as much light in there as I can get. So my interior designers (a.k.a., my sisters) told me to get a lighter colored rug.I admit, they were right. It was too dark in the living room to get really good pictures, so I swapped it out for the one in the sunroom temporarily so you can see it better. (That’s also why the sunroom is such a mess around the edges, so ignore that part. Thanks.)The rug is a little thin, but not much more than the Oriental rug in my bedroom. I know those aren’t intended to be thick and cushy like padded carpet. I’d say this one is comparable in thickness, but not in weight. So the threads it’s woven from are probably thinner. This one is quite a bit lighter to move around. I suppose you could get a pad to go under it if you wanted more padding. But, honestly, it doesn’t need it. The pile is so soft, it’s like walking on velvet. Seriously. Velvet.It’s extremely well made, too. The binding is very tightly wrapped along the edges with no gaps. And the fringe across the ends is double stitched with about an inch folded back on itself and double stitched again. So, there should be no fraying or fringe coming loose at the corners. The back has a bazillion tiny non-skid dots with many of them placed in the shape of roses and leaves. It’s a shame the back can’t be seen, too.As you can see in the pictures, most of the creases from shipping disappeared quickly, although you can use a steam iron on a low setting and then let it air dry to get rid of them quicker if you need or want to. The pictures are less than 24 hours after unwrapping it. But like I said, that isn’t due to weight. It’s not that heavy. I don’t mean it’s flimsy, not at all. But it’s light enough I could manhandle the 6’x9’ size around all by my little old self (and when I say old I mean it).The cleaning instructions seem pretty standard for a rug. Vacuum for dust and hairs. Soak up spills with a cloth and then hand wash with rug cleaner. The usual. The product description says machine washable, but that’s not what the instructions say. I certainly wouldn’t try putting it in a washing machine, but perhaps lightly touching it up with a carpet cleaner?Hopefully, I won’t have to find out for a while. Being in the living room it shouldn’t get anything spilled on it, it’s not a high-traffic area, and fading in the sunlight sure isn’t going to be a problem. I highly recommend it, if you’re looking for a nice area rug that isn’t going to break the bank. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go move it back into the living room.
