Good chairs to paint.
Love these chairs! I bought two for my front porch remodel and I'm glad I picked these up despite the mixed reviews. I read several reviews before buying -thank you reviewers- and was concerned about the quality. I'm glad I decided to pick these up. For the $50 price these are a great deal. They are adorandak STYLED so don't expect a $300 lifetime quality chair. I shopped around and most chairs similar to these were in the $100 range at my local retail stores. I did note a few issues the other reviewers wrote about:The size is great for average size person and will work okay for a larger man too. My husband is 6'2" and 220 and he fits in his chair no problem. Anyone larger may feel a bit cramped. These chairs aren't tiny, they are just not your typical heavy weight xl sized adorandaks.Putting these together will take about an hour per chair if you have an electric screw driver. There are a lot of pieces but they are marked and following the directions was pretty easy just bring your patience. The second chair went together much faster with only a couple glances back to the manual. The boards are unfinished and I noted several places with putty patches. This was not an issue for me because I painted mine. If you plan to stain them it may be a problem because my putty marks were right on the arm rest. I did not have any cracked or weak board. Some of the pieces were a little rough but I sanded them down a bit and they were fine. The fold up feature is nice. You may need to adjust the tightness for an easier fold but with a little tweaking my two chairs worked well. I also had no problem carrying these outside by myself. They are about 15lbs each.I think if you are realistic about the expected quality of a 50 dollar chair you will likely be very happy with this purchase. I would definitely buy these again and now that I'm familar with them I'd even pay more.If your on the fence like I was because of the negative reviews don't be afraid to buy these. They may not be perfect, but they are a good value for a wood chair.

Right Quality for the price.
First, these are just what is described and the quality is better than i expected at the price. Assembly was easy--about 35- minutes for first chair, 20 for the second. Instructions are clear and easy. The pre drilled holes all lined up where they should be--you could assemble with a screwdriver but a power driver is of course faster.. The manufacturer ink stamped the part numbers on the parts and thoughtfully placed the stamps where they aren't noticeable once constructed. There was some wood filler on one piece that was a lot more than I'd expect--this will likely become a failure point but they at least filled and sanded evenly. If I were painting these, it'd be hidden. We're gonna keep them out of the rain when possible, and plan to satin, sio i hope the filler will take some stain and not look way out of place. These are fairly sturdy and pretty comfortable. Im 6"2", so the backrest is a little short to rest my head against. We bought these as additional chairs for the patio, and they will be the teenager's chairs so they are fine. As for creaky/loose construction--i see no issue--when they are opened from folded position and set in place, they are pretty sturdy. My 250 neighbor sat in one of the chairs and it was plenty sturdy. The pine is pretty decent quality, and not full of knots and i there is only checking on one piece, which had wood filler implemented. At this price, they are worth it.I would have boosted to a 5 star if there wasn't the piece with the excessive wood filling....

Ergonomics and common sense
Not being funny but the people who have brought this and sat on it first time and the back has split have either two factors contributing. 1) they screwed the entire chair too tight and the tension from the screws split the grain of the wood, this type of wood accepts flex but when over strained it will split. 2) if your 250lbs + you are not ergonomically friendly for this chair. If you play in the NFL you can afford a more expensive chair. And if you're happy to say you're not in the 80% of ergonomics, I wouldn't look at this product. This price range shows common sense, it's not going to be the best thing since sliced bread... but it's pretty good if you respect the price, product and materials. 3) (bonus) Painting it is a defo must and they look awesome around the fire pit!!!

I wanted to love these chairs
Alright, I wanted to love these chairs. $90 for a set? Sweet deal. What sounds too good to be true probably is. These came shipped quickly, so I will give the company that. Construction wise, not too bad. I am the "put together" person for our household so I am used to all sorts of weird instructions. It probably only took me 30 min for each chair, and the instructions were straightforward with pictures provided. I did not like the bolts provided, they are very cheap and easily stripped when using the power drill. That was annoying. The pre drilled holes do not exactly line up either, so I had to use my eye and redrill a few areas so the chair did not sit crooked. All of these are minor things, but added extra work when putting it together. I found myself getting frustrated with the quality. The wood is extremely light, and dents easily. My daughter was able to do a little damage while we were putting them together just by using the tiny wrench provided!Overall, I doubt they will last more than two seasons. These would probably be okay for light use, or an apartment balcony but that is all I can think of. I would not purchase them if you are expecting high quality or a lasting product.
