From time to time there's the need to show simple messages on a 16X2 LCD display on your projects. Conventional HD44780 like LCD module of 4 bit /8 bit bus interface takes up 7 to 11 GPIO pins. On a small system with limited GPIO pins such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino it's better to use IIC interface instead. ROCKLCD i2c16x2 LCD module is the perfect solution. IIC bus interface is built into the LCD controller IC, there's no external IIC to 8 bit converter IC. Software task becomes much more simpler. Libraries, examples and source codes are available on github repository i2c16x2 (under rocklcd). Take it from here you can develop your own if you wish to do so.
