I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an expensive backpack just to try rucking, but after a few sessions, my back was aching! I was carrying over 45 lbs, and my regular backpack wasn’t cutting it. That's when I discovered these shoulder pads. They work great on any backpack, and importantly, they're thick. This thickness helps relieve the rubbing on my shoulders and absorbs some of the impact from the up-and-down motion during longer walks.When you compare this to spending several hundred dollars on a purpose-built backpack, these shoulder pads are a fantastic deal. While they may not replace a Goruck, they definitely make carrying heavy loads more comfortable. Thanks to these pads, I was able to get into rucking, and for that, I am truly grateful!

Great thick straps for my bag I’ve been carrying big enough stuff for these to help and there excellent very comfy just a little thick

Reduced concentrated load 70-80%. Use with my 40 pound vest and it helps but does not eliminate all of the concentrated load.

Use them on my vest with kevlar

If you are looking to improve the pad on a shoulder surgery sling and are built thin and bony, these are not an improvement over the pad that comes on the sling from the surgeon. These felt bulky and stiff to me and hurt worse, so I didn't use them.
