Amazing! This solid wood, beautifully made cane is no where to be found in the marketplace except here. It’s much more sturdy feeling under your hand than the lightweight metal canes. It feels much more stable, which is the whole purpose of a cane. My favorite part is the handgrip. I can’t stand the rounded “loop” end that most canes have. I’ve never understood the ergonomics of that. The smooth, well finished handgrip fits a human hand perfectly. It’s perfection! Plus, it’s really expensive looking because of the superb workmanship. (Love that this is made in the Ukraine. I’m grateful that I have a small way of supporting them.)

Had a little accident and broke several bones in my left foot. According to the doc, a cane will be a good idea even after the bones heal. So I decided if I'm gonna be on the gimpy side, I'm at least going to do it with style. Though the price of this cane was considerably higher than most, I can now attest that -- da-yum -- it was SO worth it! The craftsmanship is evident from the moment you take the cane from the carefully-packed box. In a word, it is beautiful! It feels super-solid in the hand and the weight, while not exactly "heavy," is definitely substantial; it inspires confidence. Also, I'm not a violent guy, but this thing would work about as well as a baseball bat with regard to self-defense. It's that formidable. The handle is meticulously crafted and fits my hand like I was born with it there. The finish is impeccable and the brass band is a thing of beauty. Seriously, everything about this cane just screams quality and brilliant design. I bought a slightly longer one than I thought I might need and cut it down to size (removing about an inch) with a miter box saw. The rubber foot was a tiny bit difficult to remove, but that has to be the case in order to keep it in place during heavy usage. It's also nice that they sent along a second rubber foot and a wrist strap, though I'm not using that at the moment. I got the deep cherry red finish on mine and it looks GREAT. I've been using mine for the past week or two and can attest that it works about as well as one could hope for. It feels like a natural extension of my arm and provides all the support I'll (hopefully) ever need. If you're looking for the best cane for any money, look no further. You're not going to find anything better. This thing is essentially perfect, and that's not a word I use often.

Updated Review: I was able to utilize Amazon's return & exchange service in this case, reporting a flaw with the item I had received, and requesting another identical replacement item sent from stock. I shipped the original item back the same day I had received it. I also received a message from the manager of the Asterom workshop, who expressed his sincere regrets for the trouble and sought to make the situation better. We had a satisfying exchange discussing workshop methods, family business, quality control efforts, etc. He was very helpful and kind, and made it clear that the business takes their quality (and customers' satisfaction) very seriously. To my surprise, the replacement cane from Amazon arrived several days earlier than anticipated. It fits together as expected, very nicely. Everything aligns as it's designed to, just like on the cane we ordered for my wife. Sturdy, smooth and comfortable in the hand, and beautiful to look at. I am impressed by the workshop and their selection of products, as well as their dedication to quality and service. I know we are looking forward to some future purchases to customize our canes further. ========================================================================== Original 2-Star Review: My wife and I just ordered two different canes from Asterom, in different colors and handle styles. Hers is fine and has no issues, but my order had an alignment issue which goes back to its fabrication. The threaded socket embedded into the upright stick is off center, so when the handle bolt is screwed in, it doesn't align flush, and causes the metal ring to sit unevenly. I've included a couple pictures of the bad alignment, and the off-center hole. I've requested a return and exchange. I'll update my review upon receipt of the replacement.

It really is that good. I have a small collection of strong, well designed walking canes, and this tasteful, highly practical model from Asterom (a family business in Ukraine) is among the most well crafted, most handsome and ergonomically inviting of all. Their leather strap accessory is a perfect handy addition by the way. Every aspect of the simple, solid assembly was a gratifying process of discovery of the excellent quality top to bottom, including the impressive metal ring at the neck of the shaft and the overall attractive oak mine tinted in there muted crimson (which as you see is classy enough for any occasion) used throughout the item. I know my exact length so I bought the correct one for me but these of course can be shortened with a simple handsaw at the foot if purchased a bit too long for you. I've only added my personal favorite cap where the rubber meets the road. I've provided the pic so you can see how perfect and how almost lovely it is while also being a solid and practical product for smart buyers. It's also a value at this remarkable price and I'm delighted to buy from a Ukrainian family business.

Very well made product. Very stylish, with an a strong shaft and ergonomic handle. Even better that they give a selection of lengths to choose from.

This has proven to be an excellent walking aid. Very comfortable to use with the ergonomic grip. Aestrom also sells additional carved grips/ handles if you want to add a bit of pizzazz to your cane. Quality item that can be trimmed to length for a personal custom fit. I would recommend getting a slightly longer version of what you think you need and trim to fit. Very stylish with a couple different colour options. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality cane.
