Great value, but not yak hair
This shawl is gorgeous, warm, machine washable and is definitely NOT made from yak hair as advertised. It is however made from recycled acrylic, so it will wear like iron and get softer over time with washing. If it were made from yak hair, it would cost 10x the $25 price tag. It is made by Tibetan refugees living in Nepal. I rather suspect the "yak hair" business is just a joke by the weavers (who know that no self respecting yak is going to stand still for being sheared!), which the naive Western entrepreneurial do-gooders failed, as so often, to understand. Joke's on them, because I wanted something lovely, warm, made by human hands and environmentally and socially responsible--and this shawl is made to order.

Not so soft.
Arrived very quickly. Not as soft as I expected, and thin fabric.

I love the color as well
I am a fan of Yak wool and this scarf is lovely. I love the color as well. The price was good, also. As an added benefit, the scarf arrived much faster than expected.

Fabulously warm and soft
Absolutely love this beautiful piece of textile. Lightweight and warm, easy hand wash. My daughter, who works at a high end yarn store, fell in love with it. While I'm somewhat sure its weft is plastic based, it's wool weave is very soft, and the teal colors are drippingly intense.Had to order another one because my daughter took it and wears it around the store in the winter. She's a Knotty Lady Yarns hawker!
