Do you clean your floors before reapplying this product? I normally clean with a vinegar/water/dawn mixture, is that ok? 20 year old plank hardwood

I vacumn the floors and go over them with my dust mop and then apply the product. Our floors are 126 yrs old and they look newer than my floor in the kitchen that was put down 13 yrs ago. You can wash your floors with your mixture. It would not hurt to do that. This is the best product I have used thus far. Better than the Quick Shine in the Green bottle....stick with this one. It is far better

What should I use to clean my (extremely dirty) hardwood floors (with an older poly finish) before I use this product?

I don't know how dirty your floors are but online you can find how to make a vinegar and water mix to use with a sponge or mop. Good luck! The quick shine brought my floor shone back even with the scraps and parts that had lost the finish

is it safe to use on a hardwood floor that is only 1 year old?

I don't see why not, but I would check the manufacturers instruction. I have been using it on my hardwood floors for about 10 years.
