Works great and is a real convenience.
My wife loves her new mixer shelf and shows it to everyone! I had my cabinet maker install it when he was building the cabinets. It works great! Very easy to lift up and even easier to lower into the cabinet. We had a heavy Kitchenaid mixer. We had it on nstalled when it raises up it is counter height. We had to sacrifice the drawer above it. We had the cabinet built with a false drawer front so when closed it appears there is a drawer there. Ithe closing mechanism is adjusted so all you we have to do is pull the handles to release it and it gently lowers into place. There was enough room under it for a small pull out shelf to hold the mixer attachments. It isn’t cheap but we found it worth it to easily keep the mixer in the cabinet and not have to struggle to get it out to use it.

Well built genius
Likes :Very robust constructionEasy instructionsPerforms as advertisedGreat use of space. You need to provide the platform to hold the mixer. I was able to cutdown a VIKING cutting board matching the rest of the kitchen.I researched several of these before purchase. It has highest capacity with 3 different load settings to choose from.Dislikes:Contrary to instructions... it does not take 45 minutes to install. More like 4 hours if you dont have spacers and platform prefabricated. You will need to provide side spacing material to flush up the sides before mounting. Fortunately I could use the matching finish shelving I removed from this space to install the lift.

Built to last several lifetimes.
We bought this to replace a lighter weight Rev-a-Shelf appliance we’d had installed about fifteen years ago because that one broke, spectacularly. I keep my food processor on it because I use that a lot, my stand mixer - not so much. This one is somewhat bigger and takes up more vertical space, so be sure you leave at least an inch more more clearance than they suggest. Also, their mounting dimensions are for a stand mixer, not a shorter appliance. They could give mounting suggestions that show you how to mount for the size of your appliance. The soft close mechanism works fairly well, but the whole mechanism is such a beast that I am afraid to just let it swing down on its own. That’s how the old one broke, I lost my grip when putting the processor back into the cabinet and one side blew off all of its guides! This lift could accomodate a much heavier appliance easily, you just have to be sure you have the clearance.

Must have for a stand mixer.
As great as Kitchenaid Stand Mixers are, they're a pain to haul in and out of a cupboard every time and this shelf makes that so much easier.Installation is pretty easy if you are OK with some basic power tools (drill/screwdriver). Note that if you have Ikea cabinets, you may have to adjust the bracket installation position slightly to accommodate the hinge placement of Ikea doors. But it doesn't hamper usage at all.The soft-close works way better than I would have imagined. Once you release the locks and drop it down about half way you can let go and the stand mixer will float down to a quiet stop. I did have to adjust the spring tension to do this and that's maybe one area of design that could be improved with these...adjusting the spring tension is a bit tricky. But doable. The only other complaint is a really minor one, but the way the lock release tab/bars are designed, they take up a LOT of space underneath the shelf which does interfere with placing a pull-out bin under the shelf or even just storing some items under the shelf in the cabinet. I think these could be redesigned a bit to take up way less space. But that is a minor complaint. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone that is tired of manually lifting their Kitchenaid out of a base cabinet.
