IMO
I purchased this book in the mid PM of 12/17/2013 and finished it, with a few brakes, in the early AM of 12/18/2013. This book had me sad, happy, mad, frustrated, laughing out loud, guessing, and cheering on the good guys and the seemingly bad guys on, to say the least. I love a good book, that can take me on a roller coaster ride that is all over the spectrum of emotions; and this book took me on a great ride. I will not go into the details of the book since they already have been provided in the comments already but I do recommend picking up the first book in the Demonica/Lord of Deliverance series, "Pleasure Unbound". If you are like me you will want to get to know the family of characters, who make reoccurring roles all throughout the book series.Larissa Ione, Demonica/Lord of Deliverance series totals now 10 books:1. Pleasure Unbound............ Eidolon and Tayla's story2. Desire Unleashed............. Shade and Runa's story3. Passion Unleashed ......... Wraith and Serena's story4. Ecstasy Unvield................ Lore and Idess's story5. Sin Undone....................... Sinead and Conall's story6. Eternal Rider.................... Ares and Cara's story7. Immortal Rider.................. Arik and Limos's story8. Lethal Rider..................... Thantos and Regans's story9. Rogue Rider.................... Reseph and Jillian's story10. Reaver............................ Reaver and Harvester's storyHappy reading!!!112/20/2013Addition Warning: I meant to "inform" all, that this series does have torture in many forms. Please be aware because it does include rape, mutilation, and flesh eating to say the least, by demons, demon dogs and other demonic thingies; not in all the books mind you, so this series may not be for you. While some torture is touched on briefly, some can be kinda graphic. I would want to be forewarned myself of such so I could make a choice to read (and purchase)such things, not be surprised, then upset and out bucks.

Warning! This review contains spoilers for earlier books in Ione's Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series, but is primarily spoiler-free for Reaver. What a wonderful book! Larissa Ione has outdone herself once again by providing readers with a sexy paranormal romance that showcases her expert world building and character development. Reaver tells a story that Ione's fans have been waiting for years by showing the truth behind the titular hero Reaver and fallen angel Harvester. I always have a hard time figuring out how to express my thoughts on books that are this amazing so just bear with me on this slightly unorganized gush fest.Reaver is a very familiar character for Ione's fans and I have had a small fictional crush since he first appeared on the page. I loved getting to see him finally take center stage after all the development he made from almost fallen angel to a heavenly hero. He is a sweet guy who has not forgotten his time on Earth and isn't afraid to break the rules to get what he wants which is a lot of fun. Reaver's past is still pretty much a mystery and it was interesting to seem his attempts to get it back. He has figured out that his demonic counterpart Harvester is key to finding out the truth which is only one reason that he is trying to help her escape from Sheoul.Harvester is another example of how well Larissa Ione writes kick-ass heroines. Fans of the series have known her as the fallen angel who does everything she can to disrupt the lives of the other characters, but she has also shown that there is more to her than meets the eye. Now that the truth behind her fall to hell has been revealed, I liked her even more. She does require some initial rescuing from Reaver (and others) from Satan's torture chamber, but quickly reverts back to her normal bad-ass personality.Reaver and Harvester are two characters that have been at loggerheads for much of the series so it was fascinating to watch their relationship development in this book. They spend a significant amount of time arguing while trying to escape Satan's armies, but this causes quite a bit of passion These two have always had chemistry (to me) and this is just enhanced. Ione is an expert at sexual tension and she really shows it with this couple. I also liked that they did not lose their personalities when their feelings started changing since they were pretty awesome characters to begin with. While most of the story focuses on Reaver and Harvester, this book spends a lot of time showing the aftereffects of the apocalypse that almost was. The Horsemen are all in happy relationships, but their lives definitely are not boring. They are still targets for both angels and demons especially Limos who is in a particularly heart-breaking situation. I love how this book (and this series) shows that things are never black and white even in the world of Heaven and Hell.Besides the Horsemen, Ione includes tons of other favorites from both the Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series. The Seminus demons (Eidolon, Shade, Wraith, Lore, and Sin) all return as do the rest of the hospital staff. I also loved the inclusion of Blaspheme, a rare False Angel, and the mysterious fallen angel, Revenant, who will be the focus of the next book. What I liked best about all these side characters was the fact that there is a reason for each of them to be included in the story, not just as a way to have random people pop in a scene.I don't want to go much further in this review to avoid spoiling the complex, but easy-to-follow plot, but I definitely think it is a worthy story for Reaver and Harvester. Larissa Ione is one of the best in the paranormal romance genre and she shows it in this book.

Still going strong
I have started reading this series completely out of order, so I may have missed a thing or two ā however, as you can see, I still loved Reaver! The writing is so good, and the characters grab your heartstrings from the beginning without ever letting go. There are incredible fights, both verbal and physical, romance, and of course a level of intrigue that is very hard to find. Reaver definitely showed a new side of himself here, especially because he managed to stay calm and actually do something constructive by trying to save Harvester. And for once, possible because sheād just endured months of torture, she didnāt have all her shields up, so she was much less prickly than usual. The contradictions of this story donāt only inhabit Harvester, Reaver has his own, but also, the whole universe where there are angels and demons, and the angels are really supposed to be on the side of āgoodā, there are exceptions to every rule. Fast paced, the story took me first on a long, and quite scary trip to Sheoul, then there were so many other things happening it was hard to remember where, exactly, I was :)Written in third person past tense, mostly from Reaverās point of view, but also showing the reader quite a bit of what happens inside of Harvesterās head, Reaver is a very solid installment in the Lords of the Underworld / Demonica series. These demons are truly one of a kind, and I had almost forgotten how much I love them!

fantastic read, unputdownable
I've waited for years to read reavers story and I couldn't put it down, it was thrilling with non stop action between the angels and demons and the romance between reaver and harvester was scorching.all the characters were great and 3 dimensional they could walk right off the page.the story starts with reaver planning to rescue harvester from being tortured in hell by her father satan, harvester doesnt know reaver used to be yenrieth the father of the four horsemen of the apocalypse and he was advised by the archangel Raphael not to tell her as she despises yenrieth. What follows is a fast paced story that is full of twists throughout and it was great reading about the previous characters like eidolon, shade and wraith and all the others who have had their story, I also cant wait to read revenants story as his character seemed grouchy and witty and I think not totally evil.

Fantastic
I have loved how this series has changed and moved and never lost sight of what it was. Reaver has been present since book 1 of the Demonica Series, and was a key player in the Lords of Deliverance series. So I was itching to find out what might happen with him, and how his past might impact others. Without giving any spoilers, It was a fantastic reveal, without making anything that has happened so far seem out of character. It wasn't something that would change the course of the books, but it was a well paced and well thought out book. I can't wait for the next in the series.

Wow
Wow oh wow this series I keep thinking it can't be topped it must be the best the author has to offer and I keep being proven wrong. I don't have a favourite in this series unusually because they are all damn good. Reaver is easy to dislike only because his actions have hurt so many and set off chain reactions in the world. But underneath it this story is the Romeo and Juliet to top them all. Harvester lost so much and it's understandable now why she is so cold. Wow loved it!!!!!!!
