Haggar Men's 21 Wale Stretch Corduroy Expandable Waist Classic Fit Plain Front Pant

First off, these pants are nice ... except. The one thing every purchaser needs to know about the waist fit, because of the special 3" stretching waist band, is that it ends up running 2" too tight. I first ordered a 32 size waist because I'm that size with ALL my pants, but I had to return these Haggar cords and order a 34 size (which was a perfect fit). The 32 size was way too tight due to the stretching band (which is completely hidden inside, undetectable from the outside, so it doesn't look dumb. I wouldn't have kept it otherwise, and the inside stretchy band doesn't make the pants look bunchy or loose around the waist--it looks normal). My weight doesn't fluctuate, so I could care less about the 3" stretching band, but the price and look were perfect, so I bought it anyway, and you may do the same; just REMEMBER TO ORDER YOUR WAIST SIZE 2 INCHES WIDER THAN YOUR NORMAL SIZE (this goes for everyone: whether your weight fluctuates and you're looking to utilize the stretching band, or not--like me). Haggar messed up big time by not disseminating this major detail that will cause many returns or loss of sales for them. (Really, they shouldn't have just made them so they fit correctly on the waist--DUH.) I've spent time making this major issue known. You're welcome Haggar. Now pay me some money for my services ;)P.S. the legs are a little too baggy, and this is said by someone who likes baggy pants.

The stretchy waistband keeps these pants snug without strangling. Stretch corduroy is a fabric probably invented on Mount Olympus. Super comfortable and very breathable. My whole lower body thanks me every time I wear them.

I had expected the fabric to be thicker/heavier. I have some Levi's corduroy which is much heavier than this. These are more like dress pants. But they fit fine and look nice, and it's been ages since I have been able to find dark brown corduroys, so I'm happy. I'll update this review if they fall apart.I wanted to add that the color is very much to my liking, these days I can finally find brown corduroys for sale again in retail outlets, but they are a weird orangey brown, like a tan color, that I don't like. The Haggar pants that I ordered are a deeper, darker brown, probably not in fashion but I think they look better on me.

I have a difficult time finding pants that fit well. I need a 38" x 29", relaxed (expandable) waist, and Haggar slacks fit me better than any other brand I've tried. I have both Haggar dress slacks as well as these casual corduroys, and the fit is always perfect. The expandable waist, inseam and crotch are very comfortable. These products are well-made and look good.

Although the pants are well made and worth the price paid I was disappointed with the 'expandable' waist feature. I found the waist somewhat tight even though I am a regular 34 waist it seemed smaller even with the expandable waist. You may want to consider one size up. If you are in Canada and ordering through Amazon.com you will have to pay the return postage...if you calculate the exchange rate and pre-paid duty the pants will end up costing more than retail...may have to lose an inch to wear these pants :)

These are nice cords in almost every way. These are unpleated, slash-pocket cords which is just what I was looking for. Good hand on them. I didn't want jean-cut (five pocket).Fit (waist and inseam) is exactly as expected--ordered my usual size and they fit fine.The issue I have is that they are cut with really wide legs. I decided that's ok for cords, but only just barely. If they were a regular twill or woven fabric, I'd have sent them back. If Haggar took an inch or so off the leg width they'd be five-star pants for sure.

Wearing these pants is a lot like wearing a nice fitting sack. They fit true to size in the waist and length, but they have an absurd amount of extra material in the legs. We ordered these to wear in a wedding party. And I'm the only one who got them tailored, and 100% of us agreed they are way too baggy. The look better than they feel. You will feel like a clown wearing these. Can I mention one more time how loose they fit down the legs? You get what you pay for, and then you should pay a little more and get them tailored, or just spend the $32 you will on tailoring for a better pair of chords.

My husband needed some good corduroy pants as it's chilly where we are. Went online and ordered these first time and they fit perfectly and he's very happy with them. Price was decent too.SECOND time ordering only a size larger as his waist has expanded somewhat. He loves these.

The pants are beautiful, but didn't fit. I have bought the exact same size at The Bay since then and they fit perfectly.The root of the problem is that Haggar makes many styles of cords, and the Amazon site should use serial or style numbers so that the customer would know if he was ordering the right one.

I was absolutely delighted with my purchase. When making the initial order I was impressed with the selection of waist and inseam sizes. I am a 40inch waste with 29 inseam and they had it!No additional cost for tailoring required. I like that.The Haggar quality went way beyond my expections. The garment material looks and feels like a quality pair of pants, fits great and is extremely comfortable.

This product was well made and very stylish. A comfortable fit and the expandable waist band adds to that comfort. Have worn them in cold weather and did not feel the chill. All in all, an excellent piece of clothing.

The 36 was very tight and I was going to reorder a 38 until I realized they were almost twice the price.The price was since reduced on the 38.Now have the 38 and they are an excellent pant for the fall.
