This is my first straight razor it worked great it was so sharp I cut myself twice on accident learning how to handle it. very impressive was the shave it gave and the ability to really get creative on the style in not sure why people went to disposable style I'll never go back . VERY SHARP!

It’s an easy starter to learn how to sharpen straight razors. The handle is well fitting and does not slip. The blade does not corrode easily and even put up wet will not rust. It can get very sharp with practice but does not come what I would call shave sharp. As such it is easy to apply too much force at a wrong angle and get an unfortunate cut. Still good for the money if you take the time with it. Strop as a side note is cheaply made and virtually useless get a better one.

I bought the razor for it's looks. It is a cool design and could be a nice display piece. Is no surprise that the razor do not came shave ready. That is something that is expected and I won't count that as a negative. You have to hone it yourself or send it to be honed. I have a basic set of stones and honed it. After that, I did shaved with it and it did its job. BUT, It is not for the beginner. The spanish point in this razor could easily nick you if you're not careful. If You are learning to use a straight razor, get yourself one with a round point (available form the same seller) That been said. It is a nice looking razor and it will add something to any collector's display. It came with a sleeve to store it and a strop. I like the razor a lot, But, for know, I don't see this as my main razor. The strop is decent and I like that it have leather and canvas sides.

As someone who has used straight razors before I can confidently say this razor is terrible. The blade is very dull, it can cut hair but not well. Because the blade isn’t very sharp rather than cutting my hair it was pulling on it, making it extremely painful. I was constantly having to hone the blade just to get it to cut. Even after my shave I could tell it did a terrible job. I always go over a second time the opposite way when I’m done shaving to make sure my face is smooth. However even after I did that my face was still very rough. If you plan on using this razor you’ll need to get a whetstone to sharpen it before use. I’m giving it 2 stars because it has the potential to be a good razor if you work on it. However I would not recommend this to someone who is learning to use a straight razor. If you’re one of those people I suggest buying a straight razor with a replaceable blade. They are very easy to use and you switch the razor out every time so you know you’ll get a good shave.

For $20 it’s absolutely incredible very sharp and very easy to hold ergonomic finger grooves on the tang Great edge geometry as well Very sharp

I'm not sure if the belt and it's usage is making a difference at all, but the blade does it work properly. I would advice newcomers to get shorter blades since this is unnecessarily long. It makes it prone to accidents.

Like it came a little late for deliver time just wish it was more sharpened as what I requested them to do
