The chemistry was explosive. Delilah and Dante leave me speechless. Some parts could have been edited but the story was very enjoyable.

What a magnificent book. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. This book did it so much justice. From the very start, I was hooked. Ahhh Dante and his little lamb Delilah. 🤩Delilah was a complex character. She was sweet, kind, innocent, and therefore placed on a pedestal by family. She grew up with Dante and crushed on him. After personal trauma she was too afraid to admit to anyone, she suffered depression and a desire to stay away from her life on a pedestal. This also meant running from Dante. When she finds herself in jail and Dante her savior, things get even more complicated. She tries desperately to resist his charms. This is a tricky trope here because it can easily make the girl seem flighty or silly or over the top if not done correctly. Delilah was done very well in my opinion. I could understand her hesitation because of her depression and past and her fears. It didn’t come across cheesy at all.Dante was perfection. He was a beautiful mix of hard, harsh alpha male and tender, sweet lover. He loved Delilah and it hurt him deeply that she pushed him away and still tried to run from him. I LOVE that he refused to let her run on him again. He wasn’t harsh to her, but he did what he had to do to try and make it clear that he didn’t want to let her go. He did have moments where he struggled with the ruthless man he was and if he could make Delilah have him, but his heart won out every time. He was smitten. 😍 And his tattoo….goodness. This part was the only qualm of the story. I don’t know how she didn’t know for sure Dante was hers after she found his tattoo.Between the complex trauma and the development of friends to lovers, I can’t say enough good about the book. Give it a chance!

Well written, very good plot. Just enough spice to enjoy but not so overwhelming as to make it just a smut read. Would highly recommend.

This book made me feel all emotions. It gave me a good laugh. The characters are fantastic and work well together.
