Would not recommend until Generac fix's the electric start feature
I cannot recommend this product based on the failure of the Electric start feature that stops working once the unit gets hot. You literally have to wait until the unit cools down approximately 30 minutes before the electric start feature will work again. Like many others I am older and have shoulder problems and that is why I bought this unit. Once running it works perfectly and does a great job, the recoil starter works perfectly however I should not have to use the recoil at all. Very disappointed with this unit.UPDATE: Returned this unit to Amazon and received a replacement PW. Once I had it setup with a full battery charge the unit started without issue and continued to restart every time I tried it after letting it get hot for 30 minutes. I made a total of six restart attempts letting the unit run each time and waiting different amounts of time before attempting restart with the electric start, happy to say it worked every single time I tried it. So if you have one that the electric starter does not work after it gets hot get a replacement or warranty work.

broken spray gun holster
great powerwasher, starts right up, works like it should, the plastic part that is supposed to hold the spray gun to the machine arrived broken in two pieces and one push bolt that holds the plastic part to the handle is missing. I have to lay the spray gun on the ground now instead of placing it into the holder where it belongs. Im going to fabricate something for sure but I shouldn't have to do that, seems everything I purchase has some kind of issue these days. I gave the machine five stars because it deserves it, real nice to touch a button and it start right up instead of yanking on a cord!

It has worked perfectly for me so far.
I have had my Generac 3100 electric start pressure washer for about two months. I have used it about 10 times. I like it very much. I have found that you can wake it up by touching the start/stop button for about 3 seconds. Then touch it again. My machine tries to start but usually doesn't start on the first attempt but never fails to start on the second attempt. When I shut it off to re-route my garden hose or other short task and then try to start it again while the engine is still warm, it starts on the first attempt. The electric starter is great for us older folks who cannot jerk on a starter rope. It came packaged very well for shipping and was easy to assemble.

Electric start doesn't work on cold starts, great machine otherwise
As headline says, electric start is completely useless on cold starts. I've had it for a year, and from new, even with fully charged battery, it has not once worked on a cold start even if tried 3-5 times. It turns the engine over steadily and strongly, but just not quite fast enough to get going. I'd estimate it needs about 50% higher startup rpm to get going from what it has. A strong pull-start spins easily twice as fast as the best the electric starter can put out. Once the engine is started manually and warmed up, the electric start is very useful for turning the machine off and back on at will as dictated by cleaning routine, hose repositioning, etc.Aside from that, the machine runs strong, plenty of water volume for a foam cannon, not too terribly loud (it is still a little four-stroke engine, after all), the handle is comfortable and the trigger spring isn't too strong to hold for an extended period of time. The multiple pressure setting on the wand hasn't had a lot of usefulness for me so far, but it does work as described and produces a discernible difference in pressure if you choose to go that route.I would recommend a longer hose, as the one that comes with it has felt limited in most uses I have had so far. Driveway cleaning requires very frequent repositioning, and for cars, there is not enough length to get all the way around normal full-sized sedan in either direction. If you have a large vehicle (long pickup or full-sized SUV) there is absolutely no way you're going to get the other side without moving the whole machine.

So Disappointed
Vietnam vet, arthritis from hell, I really needed an electric start power washer (I enjoy doing things myself). Three days after receipt, second day of using it - electric start failed, thankfully the recoil worked to start it, two pulls - perfect.Contacted Generac, technician shower up a few days later. He determined battery was bad. Five days later, it wasn't the battery and Generac was baffled and decided shipping him numerous parts to replace. A day later while using it via the recoil, gas started pouring out of the carburetor, draining in the entire tank on my pool slab, killing several plants along the way. Grabbed a pair of channel locks and secured the fuel line (there is no gas close off valve!!!). Called the technician, he ordered a carburetor. Weeks later, tech informed me parts were in, and he came out to install - you really do not want to hear the rest of the story. I'll also state, two other companies I spoke with during this fiasco stated they have zero interest in working on Generac equipment again, they are a pain to deal with. But I will state Amazon stepped up big time! Great company Amazon.

Arrived in bad shape
When the Generac 3100 power washer arrived it was in the original box then a extra box was on the outside. Upon taking the outside box off, the original box was covered with oil. It was supposed to be shipped without any oil in it. Upon inspection the oil cap was loose and oil had run out onto the box. Someone had put oil in it. It was a mess. Took me about 2 hours to clean the machine and all parts that were in the box. Once that was done I put it together and put oil and gas in it. I cranked it and it performed, thus the 5 stars. Shame on you Generac, Amazon or UPS. Generac for having oil with a loose cap, Amazon for shipping a greasy box, and UPS for turning it upside down. Over it now, hope it last me many years.
