Roonlabs Nucleus+ by Roon - Music Server - The Best Way To Experience Roon

Unless you are highly proficient in networking technology and are adept at figuring out things on your own. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT! Have a problem? (And you will with every update or change you make to your home network?) Your only solution is their community support forum where it takes days or weeks to get answers, and that’s assuming you understand the nerds who contribute to and moderate it. The product itself is fabulous but it is an absolute nightmare when something goes wrong. AND SOMETHING WILL GO WRONG! A relatively small investment in support staff would go a long way in repairing Roon’s reputation and increasing revenues but the company is too clueless about running a business to understand that.

I've been running the Roon core on a powerful Windows10 Pro machine, but with all the other things running on that computer, I get occasional drop outs in the streaming performance, so since the Roon software has been 100% reliable and because I really like its features and excellent support, I decided to "take the plunge" and order this unit.It arrived yesterday, was easy to setup, easy to restore the database backup from the Windows10 Pro install, easy to change some of the configuration for the Nucleus Plus server and with the little time I've had to audition some of my favorite tracks, the USB port is really high-quality, works great with my PS Audio DirectStream DAC; it sounds a tad bit smoother than the USP port on the Windows machine!100% satisfied!

My unit stopped working when Roon updated the Nucleus OS from 1.8 to 2.0. The Roon app said it was searching for the update which it never found. I spent a month trying to figure it out including two weeks of reaching out to Roon's customer service to which there was no response. I took the unit to a local Roon dealer and even he could not figure it out. Something as simple as an update the OS should not be such an arduous process. Terrible product. Terrible company.

This is an amazing product. The build quality is excellent as expected, but more importantly the sound quality is appreciably better than running Roon software on my laptop. Very happy with this purchase.
