Apollo Shooting Electronic Earmuffs with Gel Pads, 24dB NRR, Noise Cancelling Hearing Protection

Where do I begin? The gain sounds superb. Hard to tell whether I'm wearing ear protection or not at safe volumes. Mics don't peak at max gain like Impact Sports do, but they might actually enhance a little better than they do. Comfort? Phenomenal. They are a worthy competitor to upgraded Leights and and Pelt Sports in this regard, because I want to glue them to my head. These don't have comms capability, bluetooth, or music, which is honestly a good thing; more features that you don't use are simply manufacturing money and effort that could and should have been spent on something else, and there are better times to listen to music, frankly. If you really need comms that much, go get a headset that's built for it. Sordin makes a few, Peltor makes several, and Howard Leight makes a few as well. Anyway, as baseline earmuffs for factory work, basic shooting, or just going around, these are the number one pick. Build quality? The case these things come in is unnecessarily high-end. Opening them feels awesome, and the muffs themselves carry the excitement along further. They're so well built. I can't gush over these things more without sounding like a shameless shill. Get a pair. The electronics are analog, so they're not as sophisticated as the digital circuitry in Peltor Sports, and they also lack an audio jack, but the features these do have give Peltor a very good run for their money. Easily the best ear protection on the market aside from Peltor, and arguably even better. TL;DR: It would not be unreasonable to argue these are the best cheap ear protection on the market.

Comfortable to wear. Hearing protection is reasonably effective BUT the noise cancelling function cuts out sound for far too long and makes it impossible to have any kind of conversation.

The Apollos have a found a new fan. The good: * The headband is wide and comfortable. * The gel ear cups are soft and take longer to get hot/uncomfortable. * The volume controls are easy to manipulate, and they don't have a tinny sound like my Howard's. * The build quality feels sturdy, and the L/R labels in the ear cups are a nice quality of life improvement. The bad: they have an incredibly loud beep when you turn them on....uncomfortably loud. I would advise turning them on before placing them on your head. I own Walker Razors, Howard Leight Impact Sports, and Sordin Supreme Pro-X. The Apollos blow the Razors and HL Impacts out of the water...it's not even a competition. They're more comfortable and cheaper than both of those while still providing protection. The sound is not on par with the Sordin's different modes, but that's not a fair comparison since they are not in the same price class. However, they are just as comfortable as the Sordin's. I think these are great and I will be purchasing more to replace my Razors and HLs as my spare hearing protection. I would highly recommend giving these a shot...I don't think you'll be disappointed at all.

They come in a little stiff at first just because they are very high quality, the Gel ear pads come included so you can save 15-20$ off any of the other alternatives having to buy them. When I put them on i couldn't even hear the fan in my room, but when you turn the electronic volume up it's almost better than my natural hearing. They don't look like some weird gimmicky headphones wither they have a nice matte quality look. Mine came with 2 Energizer batteries as well, I'll probably be investing in rechargeable ones down the line eventually, but for now these are definitely the best value headphones for shooting. Very simple to use and works well, just turn the nob. The only one thing I actually don't like about these is when you click the nob up and down to turn the power on and off(not for small adjustments just on/off) makes a very loud annoying beep, bit I imagine It could also be useful to make sure you know if it's on or off when shooting and don't hurt your ears, these are definitely good enough to fire pretty much any common gun outside. But if you're shooting indoors get a pair of foam earbuds as well, no overear headphones will be enough.

Pretty good quality for the price, like that they come with gel pads already, makes them comfortable. And look good.
