Life saver!
Well made product!Just what I needed to access the roof safely with my fall protection. Why pay someone to check your roof or clean your gutters, if you are physically able to get on the roof.Thank you!

Useful, but...aluminum?
I needed some anchor points on my 12/12 pitch roof to assist with some repair work. Functionally, they worked for me but with no information about their ratings, certifications nor standards, I would not consider using these as the only means of anchoring for fall safety. I would not want to be liable for someone else using these for that purpose either. The metal is soft, so you may want to consider using truss head screws. For professional / commercial work, I don't think so.

Great roof anchors
I have purchased several roof anchors and this one is the best value for money. They seem to be of good quality and weigh a little more than expected, which should be a good choice for use with a safety harness. These roof anchor clips are simple to install and can be easily installed with screws and a drill, and using multiple together can minimize the risk

Great idea for safety and convenience
These seem to be a nice quality. I am sure they are not the most heavy-duty anchors on the market but I don't think any safety gear should be 100% trusted and additional backup safety measures should be taken. As I live where there are often hurricanes or just heavy winds that don't qualify as hurricanes, I've lost my fair share of shingles to storms. I don't have much doubt these will hold up for use with a safety harness but my secondary purpose for these is to be able to get a tarp up quickly if I lose shingles so they can be replaced after the storm. These will make quick work of securing up a tarp as well as my harness. They are well-built, lightweight, and intuitively easy to install. I recommend them.

Disappointed in Quality and Lack of Information
We typically buy the Tie Down branded ones and decided to try out this brand as it was a little cheaper. After we received it there were some serious concerns. There was no information on the box or inside the box. No instructions or anything. Just the three clips. The other brand we buy always includes stickers with instructions and other details on each item. The quality of these clips are questionable; they feel lighter and less durable. The presentation and information just doesn't jive. Be careful!

No instructions, no ratings, no way
These are just metal clips that feel lighter than normal anchors. They come with no instructions and no ratings. Maybe I will consider these for a quick repair where I lift the shingles and install myself, but no way would I leave for another roofer to use later.

So who puts these up?
These are a great idea to keep someone from falling, in conjunction with a safety rope and harness, while re-roofing a house. The question is who attaches these to the roof ridge in the first place? My solution is to throw a long rope over the roof from the other side aof the house and hold it while a guy on the front ties off and climbs the ladder and installs the brackets. Should he slip and fall, I will have a hold on the rope. These brackets will install easily with screws and a drill and can so be quickly removed as well. With these three spaced evenly along the ridgeline, three workers can safely be secured.

Looks like the original, but...
I've purchased dozens of Tie Down HitchClips in the past from right here at Amazon. Unlike what's shown among the photos for this product, you don't screw a clip like this in on top of your existing roof. You're supposed to either lift the shingles and anchor them underneath, leaving just the end with the hitch clip exposed, or you have these installed when you re-roof, for the same result. These anchors look similar to the Tie Down HitchClips, have a similar black powder coat, but something is different about them - they're lighter. The only way I can see something about the same size and shape to be lighter is if it's made of a different material. A roof hitch clip is a safety device. It will sit in the weather, perhaps for years, and then will suddenly be needed when someone goes up on your pitched roof. A person's life depends on the proper function of this clip. As it's yanked and pulled, will the metal it's made from hold up? Will this hitch clip tear out from the fasteners that are sunk into the rafters? I honestly don't know, but I just can't make out why these are lighter, and why I should trust they're just as strong. These arrive in an anonymous box, saying little more than "China" on a sticker. Inside there are no instructions or anything at all with writing. The hitch clips themselves are entirely unmarked, and show no agency certifications for safety. These are knock-offs, but different. Can you trust them? Do they make a great gift for someone you don't like?

Extremely handy to have permanently installed.
I used all three of these when installing a steel roof. After putting on the sheathing, I installed these just before removing the temporary rings. They worked great and fit nicely under the ridge cap. I’ve used them dozens of times when going up to finish the roofing and for doing subsequent maintenance. My only critique is that it can sometimes be difficult to get the lanyard clip in and out of them. I’m not sure it’s a design flaw, just the reality of using flat aluminum that needs a wider rim to maintain stability.
