These are on the verge of being almost, almost bitter, but they're not quite. I'd say, sure, it's "pure" licorice flavor. These last a while in your mouth, so there's plenty of enjoyment to be had in this small tin. Review: Really good natural liquorice flavour, slightly sweet and no bitterness. Not as intense as I expected, just the same liquorice flavour I remember from my childhood but without the awful excess of sugar.
