Once in the Bristol Channel and once on the Skerries. The rod is highly sensitive to bites but tough enough to wind fish in.The last occasion I used this was on the Skerries, English Channel, for plaice fishing. The rod showed the delicate first bites of the plaice remarkably well. The biggest I caught was just under 3lb and the rod handled very well. I used an Ambassador 7000c Synchro loaded with 30lb breaking strain with the terminal tackle length provided by Fleuro carbon 12 lb breaking strain. I also boated a 16 lb blonde eye ray which again, the rod handled well. A truly fantastic rod for the money which provides excellent sport with its light action. I actually bought this as my first rod because of the price and have since used many different ones, and have to admit that this is still my go-to for all round fishing. I’ve used it from landing little dinky roach to 5-6lb carp and it’s held up to the job every time. I’ve used it with a fixed spool and also with a multiplier reel and it works flawlessly with both.
