Review: Ups and downs - So this was and still is very useful and does exactly what I hoped - BUT you have to help it along too. The wire won't cut all the way through an egg so you have to open it while holding the egg and push it the rest of the way through with your fingers. It is pretty heavy duty and has held up to my nearly daily use otherwise. I think it could be improved on but it is considerably better than the super cheap plastic versions.

I actually returned this. It was well made and sturdy but difficult to lift up because there is no ridge on it. It is flat. Also it is only round. Most egg slicers can be turned in both directions allowing for chopped eggs rather than just slice.
