Very convenient item for getting the most out of your (dock compatible) HiFiMAN playerIt can only work as a DAC when a compatible player is inserted as it is using the DAC in the player to do the conversion and not anything from within the DockLet's you connect an Optical /Coax and RCA input to itself and easily switchable with the supplied remoteIt has a Buffer button which gives the signal a bit of a volume boostOne downside though....you have to connect the rear of the unit to a HiFiMAN psu as well as having it plugged in via the IEC mains to enable your player to get any juice from the mainsOtherwise, it's a great little unit
