Made it work
Purchased this for a neighbor and it worked! Couldn’t find it anywhere else, but Amazon had it!

Got a 1990 Mazda MX5 Miata speedometer working again
Wish it came with instructions, but it fixed the speedometer! The old one was intermittent because it was broken where the cable met the plastic. It does not come with adequate lubrication, so best to apply that before installing it. Also, it lacks the clip and seal for the firewall, so lost a star there, but great to have the speedometer working again. Had to rearrange the route because we were kinking it initially as it came though the firewall and the needle was jumping.

Different Speedometer End Connection
So far, so good. It does fit and is pretty easy to change. Main complaint is that there is no latch to snap into the locking ring at the speedometer. It does slide into place and friction is holding in place for now, but it may just wiggle and slide off some time. It has some kind of useless spring collar that makes it look like it was made for some vehicle other than the Miata. The other "wait and see' concern is that the cable is simply a highly greased coiled metal cable which may eventually start squeaking, which is why I replaced the original in the first place. We'll see. I may have to jury rig some way of holding it onto the speedometer. This is not an exact replacement for the original cable.

3 months and still works
Does what it should. It is well built and has had no problems yet as of three months. Great price for the product. Install was pretty simple.

Fits manual NA8, but does not not include firewall grommet. Be prepared for some Miata Yoga.
I have a project '96 M Edition (NA8) Mazda Miata MX-5, that I converted from automatic to manual. Before the engine and transmission swap the speedometer bounced wildly, after the swamp, it was reduced to only a +/-2 mph swing, useable, but erratic enough to be annoying. I'd been looking to replace it but it was a low-priority change until I was offered this one through Amazon's Vine Voice program.Installation is simple, if uncomfortable. There are good instructions on YouTube and a popular Miata forum. Wear gloves, expect to curse a little, and scrape your knuckles pretty good.Normally I would include pictures, but it is an OEM replacement cable in a poly bag with threaded connectors, not much to see.
