HHIP 4200-0241 48 Piece Thread Wire Measuring Set

Works as expected. good enough quality and accuracy for a home shop.

These are a bit tricky to use, but they seem to work. I just did an M8 1.25 thread on two parts. I cut the OD to size and then started threading passes. When I'd moved the cross slide in 1.25mm, I measured thread thread with the .029" wires. Surprisingly, the measurement indicated I was short of the proper dept by .26mm. At 1.5 mm in, the nut was still too tight. But at 1.51 in, the nut screwed on well. So the thread wires not only gave me the general situation, they actually gave me the exact amount further that I needed to cut.

An inexpensive set of different diameter wires used to measure the depth of the cut when making threads. Old fashioned, but great to have when I need them.

Great quality files cut very easily. Looks like they will last. Wood case is an awesome extra.
