I bought this book via Kindle. It does not ...
I bought this book via Kindle. It does not work very well in this format because the pictures do not expand. In any event the book suffers from being somewhat general in nature. It would greatly benefit from some fairly ruthless pruning.

To me this books encapsulates the best awesome modelling I see coming out of the UK
To me this books encapsulates the best awesome modelling I see coming out of the UK. John has produced a couple of award winning layouts and he shares his experiences and photos in this book, how put visual lines in your layout/ composition, scaling and depth perspective, how to construct things and in what order and how landscapes, terrains, topography, vegetation, .. work. A very good book if you're interested in producing beautiful, scenic layouts or dioramas.

All you ever need.
This is a well written book. It has lots of ideas and solutions. It's created a new bucket list of modules for me as if I don't have enough now. St Ives appeals. To be recommended.

Very interesting
A few places where the conversion to Kindle wasn't quite right, and text was repeated or maybe missing a couple of times. Good information though, and the photos were very good. I got a lot of good ideas, especially about water and trees. I will be trying some of these techniques.

The 'how to' on back scenes and lighting are worth the price alone...
So glad that John De Frayssinet chose to write this book. The 'how to' on back scenes and lighting are worth the price alone. A must have for any serious modeler everyone can learn something here. Please write more!

I have know of this modeller for many years and admired especially his scenery work. An excellent book that goes through not just the details but the thought process. Well laid out and great pictures. Definitely recommend.

Clarity and Excellence
Simply superb. A book that exactly nails it with generous pictures to demonstrate techniques, a clear writing style that covers all of the techniques held within and a wealth of information targeted perfectly.Possibly the best book on model railway scenery that I've read to be honest. Lots of fantastic ideas all held together perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone starting out and to be honest well versed in model railway building. Brilliant book.

As a new modeller, just what I needed
Very good descriptions, great inspiration, lots of brilliant tips. I'm new to railway modelling and am only doing the scenery so it is great for me. Not sure about experienced modellers.
